SIMPLE SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS TO MAKE YOU SURPRISE

Published May 14, 2023, 12:20 p.m. by Violet Harris

When it comes to science, there are a lot of things that can be done at home with simple materials that you probably already have around the house. These DIY science experiments are perfect for surprising your friends and family with some 5-minute magic.

One of the most popular science experiments is the classic baking soda and vinegar reaction. This is a great one to do with the kids because it is safe and easy to clean up. All you need is a cup of vinegar, a cup of baking soda, and a container to mix them in. Just pour the vinegar into the baking soda and watch as the mixture fizzes and bubbles.

If you want to take things up a notch, try the Mentos and Diet Coke experiment. This one is sure to impress your friends and family. All you need is a 2-liter bottle of Diet Coke, a roll of Mentos, and a piece of cardboard to make a funnel. Drop the Mentos into the Diet Coke and stand back as the soda erupts into a geyser.

For something a little more dangerous, try the elephant toothpaste experiment. This one uses hydrogen peroxide, which is a bleaching agent, and soap, which is a surfactant. When these two substances are mixed together, they create a foamy substance that looks a lot like toothpaste. Be sure to do this experiment outside or in a well-ventilated area, as the fumes from the hydrogen peroxide can be harmful.

These are just a few of the many DIY science experiments that you can do at home. With a little imagination, you can come up with all sorts of ways to surprise your friends and family with some 5-minute magic.
