'Outrageous': Legal analyst responds to Trump's comments on E. Jean Carroll trial

In response to President Trump's comments about the E. Jean Carroll trial, legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin said that the president is "trying to poison the jury pool" and that his comments are "utterly outrageous."
"The president is trying to poison the jury pool," Toobin said. "He's trying to make it impossible for E. Jean Carroll to get a fair trial."
Toobin added that Trump's comments are "utterly outrageous" and that the president is "trying to intimidate a witness in a criminal case."
"This is not how our system of justice is supposed to work," Toobin said. "The president is not supposed to be trying to influence the outcome of a criminal case."
Trump made his comments about the E. Jean Carroll trial during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
"I don't know anything about the case," Trump said. "I don't know if she's telling the truth or not, but I do know this: She is totally lying about me. I have never met this person in my life."
Trump also said that Carroll is "not my type" and that he would "absolutely" deny any allegations of sexual assault.
"I'll say it again: She is not my type," Trump said. "I don't know anything about her. I don't know what she looks like. I don't know if she's a model."
The E. Jean Carroll trial is set to begin in November.
