hey everyone it's Lori with Pizzazz Studios  welcome back to my channel. so i'm doing a

um comparison video today what i got is some  U.S. Floetrol and some Australian Floetrol

and uh U.S. Floetrol again but with  the minwax pre-stained wood conditioner

what i'm going to do is i'm going to use three  different cell activators using the same paints.

do three different tiles and show you what we  get. This is the first time i've done this,

so i wanted to video it for you and myself and  we'll see what we get i thought this would be

very interesting maybe it'll help you along in  your painting journey and i'm using a Valspar

it's a semi-gloss interior paint

now this paint is new to me i went to go buy  the one i typically use the Color Place one

and that one was nowhere to be found so i was  unable to buy it so i had to make a choice and

try a new one this paint is thinner than that  one so i am not adding anything to it i'm using

it straight from the can and i'm gonna put it  right here on my tile and just start pouring

and we'll see what happens i'm not sure  if i am going to like this paint or not,

but we will see i certainly hope  so I have a whole gallon of it

all right so i'm just  spinning out my base coat here

i'm trying to get it all nice and even for  the most part what i'm going to do is lie down

four colors and then the cell activator this is  artists loft crimson uh amsterdam turquoise blue

now i'm not looking to make like the perfect  painting or perfect tile today or whatever but

it's more of testing artists loft light magenta

i do not have too much of this left these  are colors that were already pre-mixed

from another painting i had done and this one is  called vermilion this is by artists loft as well

so i've got three artists loft paints and  one amsterdam paint it looks like all three

have amsterdam titanium white paint this one  is uh let's see i had to write it down on the

top of my cap so i knew which was which this is  the U.S. Floetrol with amsterdam titanium white

i'm just giving it a good stir before i put it  down and then i'm going to blow this out and

we'll see what happens and then at the end we're  going to compare all of them and see what we got

pardon my head while i blow this out if you don't  mind i'm going to use my mouth to blow this out

now i'm going to try to blow these all nice  and evenly i'm going to try to do my best

because of course the way you blow them does make  a difference as well so i'm going to try to be

nice and steady and even with all of them let me  tilt my phone up here and zoom in a bit for you

so let's watch this for a moment

coming back into the center nicely we  have some good cells some good lacing

this is actually really pretty i almost kind of  wish i blew out a little bit further over here

but that's okay like i said it's just a test so  i'm not looking to make the perfect tile today

all right let's zoom back out give her a spin here

you'll see there's not much movement over  here i'm gonna add some paint around the edges

see if this helps

now honestly this paint too let me see  i have the can in front of me it says um

paint and primer so i think personally i  would try and find a paint without a primer

i don't particularly think this is actually  affecting my cell activator what i think it's

affecting is the way that it's flowing  and the way it's moving and spreading

out and things like that but i don't think  it's really affecting the cell activator

the cells are awesome the lacing is pretty  unfortunately i guess i can't give you a good idea

by spinning it out to see what it looks like but  i think we get the gist so let me put this aside

put some paint up on my cup  here so that my tile sticks good

all right so now we have another tile  down here and let's put our paint down

i'm gonna be a little more generous with  it this time personally i don't care if

i'm wasting this paint because i don't like it

maybe last time i didn't put enough down i  don't know i've never had to use this much

before What i'm gonna do is I have U.S. Floetrol  mixed with titanium white by amsterdam again just

like the last one however this one i did add a few  drops of this pre-stain wood conditioner by minwax

now that seems to be a cell activator  a lot of people are using instead

of Australian Floetrol. Here we go, we're gonna  put down same paints same order, see what we get.

Okay now i can tell right away that my paint  is already moving better okay so i have to say

that i did not put enough base paint down on  that first tile because it didn't go anywhere

this one however is moving a lot easier let's  see what these cells look like though. like i

said we're really concentrating on the these  cells and the lacing and stuff like that

cell activator all right so this is the  one with the wood conditioner very pretty

interesting. the center i'm noticing does not  have so much white left in it. if you remember,

the last one had a lot of white left in the  center and also sort of has to come back in. so

let me get the other one put them side  by side. see the center of this one how

much white is still in the middle that's the major  difference that i'm seeing between these two.

so that's a big difference. what do you  guys think? we still have the Australian

Floetrol to compare these to, but put  that one back down let's give this a spin

okay

see these little white dots these are because  i probably had air bubbles in my paint that i

did not pop. so let me just move on trying  to make this video as quickly as possible

all right so these cells they're  really pretty. the lacing is pretty.

if i was um putting a little more effort into the  actual outcome of this I think this tile would be

a lot prettier than it really is um at this point  i gotta say i'm not loving the tile but you get

the gist. i'm gonna put this aside and we'll do  the Australian Floetrol next. this is actually a

a good thing to do. i hope this helps people.  it takes a lot of time mix up all this these

different things and get the different ingredients  and so maybe it'll help you. you don't have to go

out and spend the money or you know waste  time mixing up all these different things

to try them yourself so i hope this helps. now  we have another tile here i'm going to put down

put a little paint up here get my tile to stay oh  i don't mind making a video to show you guys if

i'm gonna do it for myself i figure hey i might  as well record it so that i can show you too.

get that to stick. okay so here we go,  this will be the last uh cell activator.

i'm gonna put a good liberal amount of  paint up here like it did on the last one

okay here we go again

thanks for watching everybody i appreciate you  being here if you haven't already subscribe to my

channel please do so um i have a lot more videos  coming out i have a collaboration coming up with

four other artists that i think you'll enjoy  i have um some colors that i've chosen we're

all going to do a different pour. different  technique and um we're going to use the same

colors so it'll be really fun. it's going to be  coming out on June 20th on each individual channel

i'll link those down below in the description  box for you. please mark your calendars

accordingly and um come watch our videos  and see what you think. alrighty..... now

here we go. this is the golden ticket.  this is the Australian Floetrol

it's mixed three to one with amsterdam titanium  white so let's see what we get with this one

let's blow this corner out a little bit

wow all right. get this close up for you

personally by using these cell activators so  frequently i see the difference instantly....

my hands are covered with paint. i'm sticking  to my phone. Oh boy! i'm gonna give this a spin.

all right .what do you think?  what's your favorite so far?

i don't want to sway you one way or another  and of course everyone has their own personal

taste. so hey you might like one different than  i like. maybe you'd like a different look than i

like. doesn't make one necessarily better than  the other, i feel. i just think they give you

different effects. different looks you know? it  all depends on how many cells you want what type

of cells you want things like that. it depends  what you're going for some people like the cells

like a certain way. some people like a lot  of cells. some people only like a few cells,

so i don't know. i'm finding  this very interesting.

let me get the other two... there we  go. so there you have it. this one

is U.S. Floetrol with amsterdam titanium  white paint. this one same thing but i added

the minwax wood conditioner. that one is  the Australian Floetrol i'm not even going

to really say what my favorite is, because i  don't want to sway you one way or the other

why don't you just leave me a comment. i would be  so so interested to see what everybody's thoughts

are on this, because um they're very different.  they do give you different effects different looks

so that'd be that

it's really interesting really  interesting i'm so glad i did this!

i hope it helps you guys um at some point  uh let me know if you'd be interested i'm

thinking of maybe doing a video with um half  U.S Floetrol and half Australian Floetrol

as my cell activator. okay so let me  know if you're interested in that video.

i will definitely do it if you'd like.  i'm more than happy to do it for you.

i think that would be really interesting because  if you do prefer the Australian Floetrol,

if you can mix the two together um that would  save you a lot of money. Because uh as we all

know uh that Australian Floetrol is not cheap.  um i appreciate you being here. thank you so

much. i hope i helped you please hit that  thumbs up button if you liked the video thank

you thank you thank you and do subscribe to my  channel hit that bell notification button so you

can also be notified when my new videos are  uploaded i am uploading videos three times a week
