Education: A Love Story

Published May 22, 2023, 9:20 a.m. by Bethany

When it comes to education, is there anything more romantic than the idea of learning together? For many, the very notion of romance brings to mind images of hearts and flowers, but at harvard Graduate School of education, we believe that romance can also be found in the classroom.

In fact, we believe that education is a love story. It’s a story of two people coming together to learn and grow, to challenge and support one another. It’s a story of patience and passion, of laughter and tears. It’s a story of giving and receiving, of sharing and growing.

And like all love stories, education is a journey. It’s a journey that takes us places we never could have imagined, places that challenge and inspire us. It’s a journey that changes us, that teaches us new things about ourselves and the world around us.

So what is romance education? It’s simply the act of learning about love, relationships, and sex together. It’s about exploring these topics in a safe and supportive environment, with the goal of developing healthy and positive relationships.

At harvard Graduate School of education, we offer a variety of courses on romance education, from the basics of human sexuality to the advanced study of love and relationships. We also offer workshops and retreats for couples and individuals interested in exploring these topics further.

Whether you’re just starting out on your journey or you’ve been on the path for awhile, we invite you to join us on the adventure. education is a love story, and we’d love to share it with you.

- Hello, this is Juan Pablo,

coming to you live from Gutman Library here at Harvard.

I am in ELOE here at HGSE,

number two on the rugby pitch,

number one in your hearts.

And I'm here to do a little questionnaire

for our good friends moving up to Valentine's Day.

La dia del amor. So here we go.

What would you say is the reason that you fell

in love with education?

- Oh my goodness.

Optimism and possibilities.

Anything is possible.

You learn about yourself.

You learn about the world.

- I love it.

This is the vibe we needed today.

- Okay. Thank you. (woman laughs)

- Thank you so much.

- All right.

(soft music)

- I fell in love with education because I hated school

and being able to connect with kids and make them feel

like they're a part of something is an incredible feeling.

- Yeah, being connected

to where you are is pretty important, I would say.

Do you feel that way now here at HGSE?

- Yes, both of us do.

- Mr Jibbers can you tell us who your crush is?

(man laughs)

- I fell in love with it because I believe

that every child is capable and like just the promise

of every child's capability.

It made me fall in love with it.

- Love that.

Ooh. How about yourself?

- I think that we do best when we rely on each other.

And I think education is service and growth oriented, so.

- Love that growth mindset needed.

- I fell in love with education

because my teachers made me who I am.

And I wanted to give back to that world.

- So many things, I guess I'd say first,

my experiences in school and then realizing the power

it has as I studied it more and got more involved

in the educator side

of things rather than the student side of things.

- Ooh, that is a good question.

I think I come from a family of teachers

and my uncle in particular.

He was a principal of school when I was little

and just hearing him talk about the kids in his school

and how he was creating space for them to learn,

just made me love the idea of school.

- I also love that.

(woman laughs)

Thank you so much.

- Of course.
