It was a short-lived return to the UFC for Jones, as he was quickly dispatched by Francis Ngannou in the first round. The loss was a crushing blow for Jones, who had just signed a deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) after being released by the UFC.
After the loss, Jones took to social media to express his disappointment.
"I want to apologize to all my fans for my performance tonight," Jones wrote. "I am really disappointed in myself. I let myself down and I let my team down."
"I want to thank Francis Ngannou for the fight," he continued. "He is a true champion and I have nothing but respect for him. I will be back."
Despite the loss, Jones still has a lot of support from his fans. Many of them believe that he will bounce back and become a champion again.
Only time will tell if Jones can regain the glory that he once had. One thing is for sure, he will never give up and he will continue to fight for as long as he can.
