CYMATICS: Science Vs. Music - Nigel Stanford

Published May 26, 2023, 8:20 a.m. by Naomi Charles

cymatics is the study of wave phenomena. In particular, it investigates how wave energy can be used to create and control matter. The word "cymatics" comes from the Greek word for wave, kymatikos.

cymatics is a relatively new field of science, only emerging in the last century. However, it has already made some fascinating discoveries about the nature of sound and its ability to affect matter.

One of the most famous cymatics experiments was conducted by Swiss doctor Hans Jenny. Jenny placed a metal plate on a vibrating speaker and then sprinkled sand on top of the plate. The sand began to form patterns that were determined by the frequency of the sound waves.

This experiment demonstrated that sound waves can be used to create and control matter. The patterns formed by the sand showed that different frequencies create different shapes. This discovery has led to a greater understanding of how sound can be used to influence matter.

cymatics has also been used to study the effects of sound on living cells. Studies have shown that certain frequencies can stimulate cell growth and repair. Other frequencies have been shown to kill cells. This research is still in its early stages, but it has the potential to revolutionize medicine.

cymatics is an exciting new field of science with many potential applications. It is still in its infancy, but the discoveries made so far have shown that sound can be used to influence matter in ways we never thought possible.
