When it comes to horror, sport can be a great source of entertainment. After all, what could be more horrifying than witnessing a player get a red card in football? Here are four of the most spine-tingling moments in football history:

1. The Battle of Santiago

In 1962, Chile and Italy met in a World Cup qualifier in Santiago. The game was incredibly physical, with both teams desperate to win. tempers flared and a mass brawl broke out on the pitch. The violence was so bad that the referee had no choice but to abandon the game.

2. The Battle of Bramall Lane

In 2002, Sheffield United and Arsenal met in an FA Cup semi-final at Bramall Lane. The game was once again extremely physical, with both teams giving no quarter. The match descended into chaos in the second half, with players from both sides fighting on the pitch. The referee eventually called the game off, much to the relief of the players and fans alike.

3. The Battle of El Clasico

In 2011, Real Madrid and barcelona met in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final at the Bernabeu. The game was as heated as ever, with both teams desperate to win. In the dying minutes of the game, tempers flared and a mass brawl broke out on the pitch. The referee had no choice but to abandon the game.

4. The Battle of Boca Juniors

In 2015, Boca Juniors and River Plate met in the final of the Copa Libertadores at the Bombonera. The game was incredibly tense, with both teams desperate to win. In the dying minutes of the game, tempers flared and a mass brawl broke out on the pitch. The referee had no choice but to abandon the game.
