Bose Lifestyle - Remote Control Setup

your lifestyle system is designed with a

remote control that makes it easy for

just about anyone to use the system

first let's pair your lifestyle system

remote to the system

open the console panel and push the

power button

once the power led turns solid green

hold the remote near the console

the first time you pair your remote

you'll be asked to press ok

if you need to repair the remote for

example after you replace the batteries

press the ok button on the remote and

mute on the console

hold both buttons for 5 seconds

the power led on the console will blink

when the pairing is complete

then release the buttons

press any remote button and verify that

the power led button blinks in response

now let's get your other devices to work

with your lifestyle remote

if you have the original remote from the

device make sure it's with you

open the control panel and press setup

if you're setting up your device for the

first time click add new device and

follow the on-screen instructions

using your lifestyle remote press down

to highlight the device you want to set

up

press ok on the remote

follow the on-screen instructions to get

your device connected

if your device is already connected just

find it in the unify system menu then

use the down key to highlight set up the

remote these steps may vary among

different devices

press ok again and follow the on-screen

instructions

if you don't have the devices remote or

the remote was not recognized

return to the unify menu by pressing the

setup button on your lifestyle console

using the lifestyle remote scroll down

to the device you want to set up

press ok on the remote

use the down key to highlight manual

remote setup

press ok again and follow the on-screen

instructions

select the brand of your device first

holding the arrow keys will speed you

through the list

you can also use the page up and down

arrows to skip through the list by first

letter

the codes are filtered by brand

select a code and follow the on-screen

directions to test it

continue this process until you find a

code that works

most tvs and other devices use infrared

or ir remote controls

this means the remote has to be in the

line of sight of the device for it to

work

your lifestyle remote uses ir to control

your tv

but it uses radio waves to control your

other devices so they can be hidden out

of sight

inside the control console are infrared

or ir emitters that take the radio wave

signal and send it to other devices such

as a cable box or blu-ray player

if the lifestyle console is separated

from other devices by a shelf for

example

use one of the included ir emitters

connect one end to the back of the

console

and place the other near the front of

your device

your lifestyle remote gives you control

of many of the same functions as your

device's original remote such as

playback and navigation

it also gives you additional controls by

pressing the more button

these can be very useful especially with

devices like a blu-ray player these

additional controls will vary depending

on the device
