Violent protests break out across central Dublin after stabbing attack at school

Violent protests took place in central dublin after a stabbing attack left five people, including three children wounded.

Parts of the crowd fought with police officers, and set a bus and a police car on fire. police said they had detained a man in his 50s, who suffered injuries believed to have occurred during the attack, and weren't looking for more suspects. Supt Liam Geraghty told reporters that they did not believe the incident was terror related: 'As you can appreciate, this is the very early stage of the investigation, which is not even four hours old at this stage, but at this time, An Garda Síochána is satisfied from our inquiries that there is no terror-related activity.' Geraghty added: 'It would appear to be a standalone attack and we need to determine the reasons behind that'
