my name's Sarah I study physical

education and school sports at Edgehill

University I chose to study physical

education in school sports because P's

always been a big factor in my life I

began active since being in high school

I decided as a mature student to go back

to education to become a teacher and

felt that the subjects I needed to study

was one that I had a keen interest in I

chose this particular course because the

modules that you stood a vary from the

sports that are delivered on the

National Curriculum

to psychology and special educational

needs every module has a weekly lecture

and then we have a classroom seminar or

we'll go to the sports hall and deal

practical the best thing about this

course was the opportunity to go out in

schools on placement I found that

insightful and have absolutely loved it

the staff have vast knowledge of the

subjects that they teach they have

first-hand experience in high schools

and many of the staff are research

active the facilities on campus are

great we have access to the swimming

pool big sports hall there's the outside

track there's also the catalyst library

that has fantastic study space and lots

of resources we also have access to an

online portal called discover more where

you can access journals and books the

opportunities on the course range from

guest speakers coming in to coaching

Awards first day courses and placements

within schools the career opportunities

range from sports coaching to personal

training to P teachers and that's just

to name a few

there are many more options available to

you my plans after graduation is to

start a PGCE in September which I'm

really looking forward to

for me Michaels highlight would be my

placement my placement helps me to

develop my experiences with children

some of them got very complex

disabilities and needs and being able to

make a difference to them even if just a

small change whether that be helping

them write their name or then wanting to

beat you in football it's a very

rewarding placement to beyond the three

words I would use to describe the course

are active insightful and current
