An introduction to MSc Sport Business Management at Sheffield Hallam University

in my masters I focused on sports

marketing as a subject and then took it

further into my doctoral research where

I'm I looked into service quality in

fitness industry in the UK and that's

how it helped me to combine my passion

in sports but also my indication in

management

in my role as teacher I see the most

important thing is to assist discovery

that we go on the journey together with

students and it prompts a lot of

exciting discussions in the classrooms

our students are very diverse come from

different countries from different

backgrounds and bringing a lot of

experience so that their lot to learn

from

there's so many reasons why would I why

I would recommend this course but one of

the most important is career prospects

students come into our course some of

them following their passions some of

them to change their careers some of

them to develop further in the field

that they've chosen previously but I

would say it accommodates all of their

needs and ambitions of our students in

our course we've got a module called

work based learning project which

students can choose to do when they

approach the time of their dissertation

then they would go for three months on

the placement with the organization

within sport industry and write their

dissertation project based on this

experience and the work that they've

done for the organization there is a

range of the places where they can go to

work afterwards whether it's a

government embodies private companies

within sport in industry or outside so

that there is a broad range to go to

work after having got experience in our

course

we have a really broad expertise and

experience within our teaching team so

some coming from the industry and have

years and years of experience in the

field and understand what employers

require need from future graduates where

is another hand we've got people who

came into teaching through educational

route and academia so that allows the

really good symbiosis of the

theoretically applied knowledge but also

innovative research that helps to solve

complex managerial problems on 21st

centuries and this is what our students

are graduates afterwards essentially

required to do
