CGI and VFX are both techniques to create realistic images with computer programs. CGI stands for Computer-Generated Imagery, which is anything that is created digitally within a computer. VFX stands for Visual Effects, which involves adding effects to existing imagery or film. VFX experiments with the real environment or the primary image capture, while CGI works as a standalone process. VFX and CGI are used in the film and television industry to create scenes that would otherwise be impossible, such as dinosaurs or animated characters.
