several new reports have emerged

recently containing some alarming news

for users of pirate IPTV services

including ISP monitoring and

prosecutions

this development in the fight against

pirate IPTV services to include

prosecutions against users is relatively

new

in the past efforts have been targeted

towards the IPTV service and not the end

user

in the UK internet service providers are

taking active measures to monitor IP

addresses users are pulling most data

from during key sporting events

this information is being used on block

lists to block the IP address that is

hosting the event to prevent subscribers

from watching pirated events in just a

few examples of the many news articles

posted on the popular torrent freak blog

in the last three months alone it should

be enough to make any operators of IPTV

individual that operated a pirate IPTV

service in the UK was sentenced to 16

months in prison for running the

operation and included four months of

prison time for watching his own service

and in August an injunction was obtained

to restrain the alleged operator of IPTV

confirmed to be the reason behind the

and also in August it was confirmed that

Ace was behind the closure of my TV boss

and easy TV streaming

in September police in Italy reported

240 IPTV subscribers to the prosecutor's

office for further action who were

identified after a reseller was targeted

by authorities these sellers often keep

records such as name address and payment

information which was appeared to have

been handed over to authorities to use

to identify users that had subscribed to

the service and are being held

responsible for receiving stolen goods

if found guilty they risk a penalty of

up to 25

000 Euros as well as an eight-year

prison sentence

this is the first operation of its kind

seen against IPTV users worldwide even

if successful prosecutions are not

imposed at this time this does show that

there is a small risk to end users and

acts as a warning to anyone using IPTV

Services if you do not know if you are

using a pirate's IPTV service or not if

you're paying for a service that offers

thousands of live TV channels and

possibly even videos on demand with new

movies and TV shows it's highly likely

that you are

cable companies charge users way more

and when you add on additional extras

and packages such as Sports movies and

premium channels this can set users back

hundreds each month this is what forces

users to seek out more affordable

well as giving out your real identity
