FBI Director Chris Wray is facing some of harshest critics in Congress at the House Judiciary Committee.
Chairman Jim Jordan opened Wednesday’s hearing by reading in part a recent judge’s ruling against the federal government’s handling of misinformation on social media, kicking off a long list of GOP grievances against the Justice Department.
Republicans were to aggressively question the director on several fronts, including the recent indictment of former President Donald Trump, the ongoing investigation into President Joe Biden’s son and the push for a new FBI headquarters.
The new dynamic has forced Democrats into a new position of defending law enforcement agencies they have long criticized.
