Food-scrap recycling starts Jan. 1, but most San Diego cities aren't ready

Come the new year … a new law will go into effect mandating California cities to provide organic recycling.

That means residents can put eggshells, fruits and vegetable peels and other food scraps with their yard waste to be recycled into compost.

But as North County Multimedia reporter Alexander Nguyen shows us … a majority of cities in the county aren’t ready.
