Cucumbers are almost as popular as tomatoes, and you can even grow them the same way. This is the low & lean system. It's a commercial growing method, but we love this simple trellis for backyard growers too.
Your cucumber plants follow the string upward, and the plant matures from bottom to top. That means you can easily prune & harvest as you move up. When your plant reaches the top, you can just unravel some slack and lower your plant. It's that simple to grow cucumbers well!
