Six inches of snow possible on Friday in Southeast Wisconsin

Published July 24, 2023, 8:40 p.m. by Naomi Charles

Many of our northern and western locations ended up getting 1 to 2 inches of snow late last night and more is on the way this weekend. We'll first have a quiet stretch of weather lasting through tonight and tomorrow. Lows tonight will be around 30 degrees and highs tomorrow will be around 40.

Computer models continue to develop a strong area of low pressure to our south on Friday. The center of low pressure is projected to track cross Illinois and eventually in Michigan. This would lead to accumulating snow for SE Wisconsin. Rain and snow would move in Friday night. As of right now, we are calling for 3 to 6 inches of snow for most of SE Wisconsin. There may end up being a narrow band of even higher totals, where we see high snow rates. The bulk of the accumulating snow wraps up Saturday morning.
