uh I I'd say I'd say rice is is you have

to give him his credit he's been doing

longer you've got a lot more appearances

under his belt his availability is is is

is is clear he doesn't get injured

captaincy at West Ham

Casado is a top talent as well I would

have taken Eva I think either of them I

think maybe the slight advantage of a

rice is that from a Bulgarian even

shooting from distance and then

obviously the height just balances out

Enzo in terms of physicality but kaisado

has been doing brilliantly this season

go off but I would have taken either I

think at the price listen at this point

worth the investment the thing I say is

about 24 years old so this is for me I

know Odegaard is your Club Captain but

he has all the attributes of being a

club Captain a leader for years and

years to come

um hopefully for for you he stays there

for the rest of his career type of thing

but I think it's a really good signing I

think it's exactly the type of area you

need which some people might say you

didn't because of party or jacquer but

palate looks to potentially be on the

way out jacquer was seemingly on the way

out as well so this is the right person

you want to rebuild your Midfield around

and also who could have gone to City we

spoke about it on Monday's show um and I

guess he could have gone you know you're

guaranteed in a way to win trophies at

city but to come to Arsenal especially

off the back of the Season you had you

need people that are going to kind of

drag the team by the Scruff of the neck

at times and really show that leadership

and I think he's got those qualities and

plus he's just won a European trophy

that's think on top of this as well

tactically there's concerns right

because some people are saying he's

played next to sue check he's been a box

to box midfielder so check's been

sitting the year before Bryce was to sit

and such was the one getting forward

at the bridge so when you look at Rice

every year he's learning something he's

the coaching under the new you know role

he's he started to become that this is

about Deca rice and what his ceiling is

good of a coach and environment can

McKellar be and give to Declan rice to

got to remember he's a natural

thinking I can take him to that next

level now I think rice looks better when

he plays for England around better

players as well so I think it's an

exciting signing for Arsenal you know

what I mean because I think his ceiling

is high I think like Abby said I think

probably within a year or two he'll end

up with the armband I think they won't

do it straight away to older guys how

much of a coupe do you think is as an

Arsenal fan because you see when City

came to the party same to the table yeah

at Arsenal it's bigger than going to Man

and win a trophy I think would be the

minimum for me Abby as a Spurs fan

they be looking to do they're getting

good players they're back in McKellar

they've got Spirit they got fight

they've got hunger they got excitement

Arsenal now is it just keep competing

being in and around it or and we need

some silverware I agree with with Curtis

that they need to potentially start

challenging for some silverware that's

not me saying necessarily the Premier

League or the Champions League I'm

saying a carabao cup and I don't know

why they'd care about cup get so much to

respect to be honest with you I don't

know why but I'd say domestic trophy

um

if Arsenal finished they finished second

say they didn't win the Premier League

again which you're saying is kind of

likely yeah kind of thing yeah but they

only won the Cowboy cut the narrative

around Arsenal yeah

again because of the expectation but at

the same time like we like Kershaw said

like we're all probably nailed on to say

that City are going to win the league

there's nothing to say that you can't

win the league who knows what can happen

Chelsea underpatch who knows what can

happen Big Ang Tottenham who knows but

well we do know that but I think that

the main thing that you have to build on

again is is challenging again because if

you look at it from a Liverpool

perspective how they were with Man City

every single year they were there

thereabouts they were challenging push

it every single season to kind of the

last day if you want to be challenging

you have to learn to do that the whole

way you know and take it to the line and

then the best team wins obviously what

happened last season it tailed off it

kind of did capitulate towards the end

I'm not just saying that because I'm a

specified I'm just saying it because

it's pure facts but that's what you need

to build on you you need to learn from

what happened last season I think that

looking at what you did last season you

learned from the season before when you

bottled the top four you learn from that

and then you went on and I don't think

any Arsenal fan expects you to you know

come second or you know have have the

season that you did have despite the

ending but I think if you can keep

learning and growing from what happened

the season before then there's nothing

to say that you can't take it to the

whole way or win the league or take it

to the final day or something like that

and really challenge them because the

squad you're building is up there with a

squad that is capable of challenging for

sure and especially when Chelsea are in

a transition Tottenham in transition

Liverpool in the transition Newcastle

is that a one or four are they going to

add more I know they've obviously added

tonale but what else they're going to do

in the window I still think they need

some more auditions to come in to you

know just boost that Squad and the

quality of it in the Champions League

but also you haven't played in the

Champions League for a long period of

time so I think it's been seven or eight

years so what's going to be interesting

to see how you deal in that what's your

focus what's your priority type of thing

Matisse you you always you're ready to

get onto the Arsenal you know for

different things but that but that has

largely been like like I said because of

Don robiedo because Robbie on this show

has unbearable yeah Mrs deflective has

been unbearable this season and it all

crumbled through a big Crescendo in the

end yep but now going forward though how

do you how do you view it because

they're let that they're looking good

man they are looking very looking good I

think I think every single year City had

a favorites aren't they yeah just by

default by default but I think if you

look here over a four or five year

period for any club that builds their

team up

does the right things in the market has

stability from a managerial recruitment

standpoint you'd want to snag a title

out of cities dominant time I'm not

saying that that's an achievement in

itself exactly I'm not saying you've got

to win it this certain year this set but

you've got to win it at some point in

this period And if you don't then you

haven't you haven't you haven't done

anything so basically like Liverpool did

yes I know they kept knocking they kept

knocking in and around it it's the same

with any sport yeah there's always a

consistent Underdog

um if I take it to Formula One rosberg

versus Hamilton you got one that was an

incredible achievement obviously

Hamilton was going to get most of them

but you need to get something you need

to leave with something because if you

don't leave with anything happens in

tennis look at Andy Murray used to get

one exactly just you just you just take

one any sport there's an underdog you

have to at some point over perform you

have to defy It All Odds right and do

something that no one expected that's

that's that sport so if Arsenal do that

this year you know the season after

whenever it is you have to build up to

doing that you can't just keep finishing

seconds second second and say oh it's

Man City like you have to at some point

you have to you have to take to go in

City last year like they had a lot of

this year teams will really Target

racing then so they reminded me a lot of

that and I think the difference when I'm

watching what you're doing now is that

when it got to the summer we moved to

Wembley we didn't really make many

additions that strengthen the squad

whereas I'm watching what you're doing

and you're making the right move to

strengthen the squad

um so that's the only type of thing

because I felt it was very similar last

year I watched us drop off at the end

you know I watched you drop off at the

end and I just thought it's going to be

interesting to see what you do in the

summer and you're making all the right

sounds and movements that you're that

you're going to do for the season ahead

so I'd say it's promising from your

perspective

um and by the way someone in the chat

said that I've lost my mind thinking

that it will be a one-off for Newcastle

were this season neither will Liverpool

all right which is absolutely fine and

can you know I just want to see the best

out of these players and I think that

when you're playing in a different

system you know the system we were

playing under Conte was so suppressive

and depressing to be honest as well you

know there was no there was no room for

any type of creativity or for anyone to

do what they wanted to do and have the

freedom to do it so I think having

having him in there I think we'll see a

different version of him this season I

hope that we will because the one that

we saw of him at Brighton was was what

we intended to buy

um and same with Jed Spence we were

talking about it before we started and

we've got so many options at fullback

but Jed Spence It'll be such a shame to

like just waste that opportunity you

was developing while he was at Forest

he's been at Red like I want to see him

don't see Madison doing the ugly side of

the game even when Leicester Leicester

some more legs in there we need some

more bite we're in a relegation fight

to start at Spur with a creative player

buy a striker and who do you think you

could go for

um I think that the first like initial

thing is you have to at least try uh

richarlison as the main guy because you

just spent 60 million on him last year

like that's that's still a big

investment for for a player and um

obviously last year he had a really

tough year he like he had a bunch of

injuries and then when he did come on he

especially in League games he didn't

like have huge impacts but

um I would definitely want to to see him

play more if if Kane is gone

um and I like who we have in the wings

but sun is also getting getting uh up in

age and whatnot so yeah I'm Richard he

played for Brazil didn't he did well in

the world yeah he was he was their

number nine in the World Cup yeah yeah

situation as you also just reiterated

because you are damned if you do and

option if we were going to sell him

would be for him to go to buying because

he's out of the Premier League you get

trust a board to reinvest money when

we've been burned so many times with

him to United because we've done that

have written him off but there is a

player there I'm not saying he's up to

Kane standard by any means but his best

position as Curtis said is down the

middle

um you would either see son in that

position as well but Tottenham would

still have to strengthen because it's

not enough when you look at the

difference of how many goals scored Kane

is so far ahead

um I know son had a particularly poor

season last year as he could have said

Amber Charlotte

um but you need more than that and I

don't know who they would look at to

bring into the fold if Kane went who can

match that level of goals who who can

essentially carry a whole team

he's banned up until January it's a

great investment but you can't you can't

spend that money on a player that's

gonna miss you know the majority of the

Season can I just say is this not the

Ronaldo concept a little bit in terms of

you know one man some of the goals and

if he goes where the goal is going to

come from Richardson's shown in this

league that he can get 10 to 12 15

potentially goals if he gets enough

chances Madison is coming to the team

chance creation is there now son could

have a money type you know move in his

career where he goes from Wing where

he's not a great dribbler not a great

trans Creator but he's a good great

finisher of both feet he could become a

striker and then you go and get a left

Winger you've got kulaseski who needs to

be back into form but he's shown you can

get goals Madison can get goals I don't

think this whole you know Tottenham will

not score any goals if Kane leaves

narrative is is really fair I think it

will just demand that other players take

more responsibility and and for me

personally I'm going to disagree

um with both Tottenham fans I I just

feel like you have to take the money

because it's like if you don't take the

money now you're not going to get any

money and you're still going to be in

the same situation in terms of the same

concerns Kane at some point is going to

leave your football club whether it's he

regresses and you need to replace him or

you have to get it into that mindset of

we need to replace Kane and you either

do that now with the money or you don't

had great players everybody's had great

players you have to replace they don't

stick around forever that's just how it

yeah I definitely see where you're

coming from but and at the same time

it's like there's no for a for a

world-class player like Kane there's no

like truly replacing him it's more so

like remaking multiple players on the

squad like you're never gonna get like

you're not gonna there's no way

Tottenham can get another 30 goal no

like a multiple 30 goal Seasons guy like

in the transfer market or in the academy

or anywhere so you're gonna have to look

at getting multiple guys that can that

can make similar product that can like

get similar production

um and I don't know exactly where you go

in in this market if you sell Kane and

get the money to then get another guy

along with her Charleston that can play

that number nine

um and then um like also spend on we

have a bunch of other holes in the on

the roster right now like you know

center backs are a huge issue because

you know I I really can't like if we're

rolling out Eric Dyer again next season

ask you on this Mason amount situation

we haven't really touched on it too much

on the show uh for yourself as a Chelsea

fan where do you stand on the amazing

amount situation now to man united are

you kind of over it now or do you want

to still try and give him an opportunity

to work with pochan see if a new deal

can be struck where's your head up

to be honest you know he he is given

three good years at Chelsea and I

probably want him to stay but it seems

like he wants to move he doesn't want to

commit his future for this club anymore

so if that is going to be the case there

is no point in making to stay in the

club we don't want to have any uh

unhappy players in the squad we already

you know managed to you know get rid of

all the dead roots and he is one of the

Christ asset you know even though he's

on the last year of the contract we can

still you know sell him for uh for some

50 or 50 or million and get the money

and invest the money wisely in caseado

or some other some other midfielder

somebody like you know Madison who can

you know who can do the Creative who can

take care of the creativity part in the

club because you know apart from Enzo

Fernandez I don't see any other creative

players in the Midfield there are people

you know mostly talking about her we

don't have a center for our Center but

actually I nobody's noticing that we are

lucky in Creative midfielders in the

team they cannot depend Enzo Fernandez

throughout the season so we need to have

someone NASA backup for Enzo Fernandez

somebody like Madison

who can play in case what if Enzo gets

injured then whereas the crit is going

to come from

so you know we need to you know get a

midfielder cell mount and try to find a

creative midfielder

and build the team so that's how I see

it I don't want to you know see see

Montez sorry Mount is not happy to move

here no let him go you know that's how I

see it and and another question um as

well for you about ownership because

obviously there's a lot of opinions on

Todd Bowie and the way that they're

running the club in the first year

what's your confidence levels at with

what you've seen obviously it's been the

worst year since the mid 90s in terms of

the performance last season

um a lot of money spent a lot of

ambition but maybe misguided or

misdirected

um a lot happening at once where where

is your head at now in terms of the

confidence levels are you still fully on

board with what they're trying to do in

terms of the project bringing in under

23s

um players or or are you starting to

think that maybe they're they're moving

in the wrong wrong direction

I think he's still learning his trade as

a owner of the Chelsea Football Club

last year we need when he took over the

club you know he thought it or whatever

he's going to do he's going to click

instantly but it backfired it now he

realized you know oh no he can't do you

cannot operate the various operators

last year so we are in the question to

you know sell up most of our deadwoods

which we have managed to do it very well

so and if when I look at dot bowl you

know he's not looking at the short term

let's compare the previous regime this

regime in the moment everything is about

instant you know it's short-term you

work with the view to you know get

instant success you know you've never

thought of you know long-term uh point

of view whereas this guy you know he is

he is having a vision from a long-term

Vision you know he's trying to you know

uh get players on long-term counter like

you know five years or eight years that

shows you know he wants to he

is not here to do things from the

uh yeah in long term whatever he does it

make good in in the meantime you know we

we may have to you know suffer for uh

for quite a number of time after hours

and everything will get better I guess

that's how I see Todd Bobby I think he's

doing well he's realized he's made some

errors he's trying to cut it that's how

um in terms of pochettino what is your

expectation of him coming in and what

you think he can he can kind of do with

Chelsea and after the season you had

which was just sort of disarray oh yeah

um I feel like he can't get any worse

and the season we just had but I feel

like

we just need to see an improvement going

forward I feel like with the youth

project we've got going at the moment

and the talent that we're looking at uh

like flacovitch is one that's already

been mentioned

ottoman's another one that's been

mentioned and I just want to see her

score more goals and improve uh

especially in the goal tally because I

think defensively we've got a very good

back for

um but I'd like to see us like try and

challenge for top four I think we we've

seen it before where we've come 10th

with even Mourinho and we came back and

won the league I'm not saying that's

going to happen this season but

um there's always that potential there

that we can contend for top four with if

we have the right window

um just following on from that because

you want to you're saying you want to

get back to being in contention for the

top four obviously notoriously Chelsea

fans are not the most patient fan base

how much time do you think will be given

to porch let's say it's not going as you

may want it to go by the time it gets to

Christmas do you continue

what happens

I think

when we brought Potter in it was

expected that this is going to be a

long-term project it didn't work out

because there was no improvement

we we saw at the start it was a really

high peak when we were being Milan in

the Champions League which was like

amazing and I loved Potter for it but

then it just went uh when you look at um

the potential of Potch come in who has

for example as you know built the cotton

to be content well contenders

um

I feel like they need to give pot time

I'm I I when I heard Potch was in line

for it I was quite excited because he's

a he's an a proven project manager so

I'd give them as much time as you can

give them I'd say this season for me if

he doesn't do as well as I'm expecting

I'm not gonna be annoyed about it

because he's already been given a crap

situation excuse me sorry

um but they say a lot worse

official real estate swearing I'm like

oh is that what they said to you don't

swear the cheeks

Ben I just wanted to ask you about um

Kai Harvard so obviously we're just

giving you like a big bag of money for

him and we're scratching our heads a

little bit as to why we've signed him

but what what do you think the Arsenal

fans can cling to and and also what do

you think is best position it's

well I think every Chelsea fan to be

saying he's a 10. like when we signed

him he was a 10 he was going to be

behind um who do we have at the time you

signed him he's gonna he's gonna be

behind Timo Vernon he came in under that

Frank Lampard yeah yeah that was your

room like those were our two options

going forward but it was like that was

what was expected and then the lamp on

it never really worked out especially I

remember his debut when he passed out of

out of play like instantly on his first

touch

um I think we played him at the eight

that game as well okay but I think for

Arsenal I think what I've heard is our

test is expecting to play him as an ape

which I'm not sure how that will work

out for Arsenal going forward but you

can't displace Oregon even

yeah you're not doing you're not doing a

lot to make

I refer to the to the clips they talk

about you know kai have us drifting and

off the the right kind of half Space by

Leverkusen and cutting in his left foot

and being this kind of

box Crasher slash Creator but odor God

plays in that very position and you're

going to play through the road to God so

it's like where does was does car have

us really come into this and it's going

to be interesting it was the same with

Mason Mount when yeah um they were

saying he's very flexible people say

have it says flexible but he's kind of

when you look at Mount he's uh jack of

all trades master of none but I'd say

but we've seen more come out of him on

goals and assists than we have out of

habits yeah where he's been played off

the right he's been played for the

middle he's been played at the 10. we've

seen him for a short stem play at the

eight but it's like

uh it was weird because when arsenal

were in from even when Real Madrid

weren't for him I was like this could be

a steal for US 60 mil for how he's been

performing blinded literally that's

actually how you guys feel about Mount

and have us isn't it like oh it hasn't

really worked out great take these

players off our hands

yeah I don't feel that way

that's very sad to hear that he wanted

yeah is it is that bad is that a bad

thing Ben that he's gonna leave

I don't I think we've moved on from

better players like yeah KGB go we've

seen salad go and they've turned out

good but I think

but looking at Mount going it's worse

because he's a product of our uh our

youth recruitment I think you do really

well under porch so I'm I'm unsure I

would give him the benefits he doesn't

want to stay does he no he he doesn't

want to stay but I I just think he would

do really well under 10 odd pool though

I think I have it to a Duo and uh as

well if given the chance playing at the

tent and that's why we wanted to keep

him and mount but sadly both players

just wanted to go elsewhere

we we can accept other players but

because Kai Howard played for Chelsea

and he didn't think good as his Center

forward we just can't accept them so

that's kind of like I'm I'm having a

little bit of a hard time you know

accepting oh okay Harper's not gonna do

good in arsenal

what we were speaking earlier like about

targets for next season obviously we

finished second we're gonna at the

moment with the biggest Spenders where

do you expect Arsenal to finish next

season

so I have a lot of faith in Miguel

arteta and what he has been doing since

2019 he came in because we will be

seeing progress each time even the year

we finish fifth everybody came in the

year after that they were like oh

Arsenal is not going to make top four I

actually said

last year Arsen is going to be in the

top three before the season started

because I can see hey Arsenal would

finish fifth but they were 1.0 from

Tottenham and Tottenham had two players

to score 20 plus goal which would never

happen again so I'm like yeah Arsenal

can finish in the top three and

everybody was just like oh no it never

happened

and I'm saying even this season coming

up Arsenal is going to challenge for the

league again like

that's how much faith I have and what

Arsenal is doing right now

yeah there's gonna be a lot of people

onto

um if uh if you don't if you don't at

least at least challenge if imagine

there was something I'm thinkable I also

didn't get in the top four or something

like that that would be you can't see

that I can't see that we made it back we

made it back it was between yeah it was

about Chelsea no he's gonna finish ahead
