Erling Haaland scored 19 minutes from time to consign brentford to a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.
Haaland capitalised on Kristoffer Ajer's unfortunate slip to race through on goal and slide beyond Bees goalkeeper Mark Flekken.
Thomas Frank's side showed great improvement from the 4-1 defeat to Liverpool at the weekend and will consider themselves unfortunate to leave the north west empty handed.
