THE BEST TRAVEL DUFFEL?: Thule Chasm 90L Review

today we're talking duffels

specifically the thule chasm hello hello

hello duffel this thing's huge

come here get on santa's lap alright

first off when it comes to duffels

i love a duffel bag when you see an

avenger

or a duffel bag something's about to go

down kind of see the the normal duffel

as like the defender right like the

defender 90 or the 110

it's awesome on the outside it's rugged

it means adventure

but honestly on the inside it's pretty

spartan it's pretty bare

most duffel bags don't have anything

going for it on the inside

maybe an exterior zip pocket but they

leave all the organization up to you

this is like the new defender still

rugged on the outside

still awesome still means adventure but

a lot of functionality on the inside of

the bag and i was very impressed with

that

so let's get to it the chasm comes in a

few different sizes the 40 liter which

would probably work for a carry-on

and then your 70 liter 90 liter and 130

liters

130 liters are you moving i guess you

could

this is an autumnal orange that's

olivine back there there's two other

colors a black and a really pretty blue

now normally when i travel

it's by plane and i'm always looking for

a carry-on but recently

not a lot of flights going on so i've

loved being able to use this

as like a road trip dump

bag all right let's talk features let's

start on the outside backpack straps

which is very handy as well as your

traditional carry straps another problem

with a lot of duffels is that when you

throw a bunch of stuff in here

if you do go to backpack mode it's all

falling down here right it's all going

to the bottom they have cinch

straps which makes a lot of cinch to me

so that you can tie them down and make

sure that your stuff stays kind of

compressed and not all floating to the

bottom

speaking of the bottom it's padded the

entire bag

is made out of a very heavy duty weather

resistant

tarpaulin it's tarpaulin fun fact

is also what we call tarp the backpack

straps are very comfortable

easy to wear also very easy to

take off you have a nice little area

here this little

metal piece just goes boop right through

and then there's a clip at the bottom

just like that backpack strap stow it on

the inside in one of the pockets or

on the outside great pocket there

also on the outside you've got a couple

of extra grab

handles in case you're throwing it in

like uh a thule box

or something and it's up there and you

gotta pull it down or again

if it's uh coming off of the conveyor

belt and you're trying to lift it up the

right way

i love these zippers have these nice

long holes on them i always hate hunting

for the zipper that's no fun it's got

the

interlocking zippers you can put a tsa

lock on there if you want you have to

buy that separately of course

um the shape of the duffel is really

nice it's a traditional duffel but this

part here actually comes down and as you

can see inside here

is quick access

stash pocket okay gigs up quilted

northern

that does not come standard but if i

just showed you the duffel bag like this

you'd be like well i don't understand

all right so let's get to the inside all

the pockets

are kind of on one side okay our just

jet pocket here

you have another zip pocket here and

then on the inside this is kind of like

a floating pocket that would be

on the inside as well when you order

this bag which i really think you should

because it's great you're going to get

it

in this bag that's right the entire

duffel

when you're done with it after your trip

rolls up and folds right back in here

i'm not going to do that because i like

the bag being out with no wrinkles in it

and i've got a place to store it you

could hang your duffels up

use this as a separate storage bag for

clothes or shoes or whatever you want

all right so there you go that is the

thule chasm

duffel this thing is made of weather

resistant material it's got a lot of

smart features like backpack straps and

internal

organization pockets it fits things like

toilet paper which i have to return to

my aunt promptly after this video and it
