Jennifer Lawrence talks new film 'No Hard Feelings' l GMA

and that of my interview with Jennifer

Lawrence the Oscar Mayer stars in the

new comedy no hard feelings it's her

first movie since becoming a mom her

first big comedy he sat down to talk

about it here in New York

what you got down there something for me

why you tried kidnapping me you're 19.

grow up what made you want to do a big

comedy well I I just I read it I

definitely wasn't I wasn't ready to work

I wasn't planning on working for a long

time you just had a baby I had just had

a baby so I definitely wasn't planning

on working and I just I read the script

and it was just too funny it was the

funniest thing I had ever read no hard

feelings follows the story of Maddie a

young woman on the verge of losing her

house when she comes across a job

listing that seems like the answer to

her financial troubles we're looking for

an attractive kind and intelligent woman

early in the mid-20s wealthy helicopter

parents looking for someone to date

their 19 year old son Percy played by

Andrew Barth Feldman they want to bring

him out of his shell before he leaves

for college he's just been so worried

about our son he's going to Princeton in

the fall no I've heard of it is it true

it's based on an actual Craigslist ad

yeah that sounds crazy yeah about four

years ago the director's a good friend

of mine we've been friends for a long

time and we were getting dinner and he

showed me the kind Craigslist ad and I

just thought it was hilarious I in no

way thought I was gonna like be in the

movie or that there was no movie it was

just the ad and we laughed about it and

then four years later he sent me the

script need a car for college did our 19

year old son this summer and what a find

your co-star is Andrew barthol

unbelievable we just wouldn't have made

the movie if we couldn't find the right

Percy this kid is Undateable have a

drink together he'll have a Long Island

tea I've ever had

we auditioned some great actors and it

was just immediate

well he has this mix of he's a little

bit of a nerd he's obviously super smart

but also he's kind of a cool kid oh yeah

no he's I was really worried that my 20

year old co-star was going to annoy me

before the movie started I was like I'm

going to hang out with the 20 year old

all day and within minutes I it was he's

so smart and

cool and dialed and he put off going to

Harvard to do this movie

very Percy likes the oscar-winning

Lawrence is also one of the film's

producers why don't you go wait on your

boat not below the Foghorn when we're

open tell me about your producing life

now

um it's good it's busy but focused and

streamlined I don't take on anything

that I can't personally read every draft

of and give notes on it do you think

maybe directing's in your future as well

I used to think that and now I'm just so

tired and it just looks so hard you know

I was I was looking back and you did an

interview with Barbara Walters 10 years

ago where do you see yourself in 10

years

not in LA in a house

on a big property and maybe starting a

family everything's calm everything you

have a minivan I started a family I have

a Volvo close it's not a minivan yeah

and what do you hope you're going to be

doing next there is no next there's just

once you start your family it's just

it's the greatest thing in the world I'm

just gonna

try to take on every second and be

present and enjoy it you think you're

going to be a helicopter mom

I'll have to work on it what do what do

you want people to take away from this

movie

I'm gonna laugh I just want everybody to

laugh and have a good time

I can't lose my license

it was a fun movie and fun interview you
