Hi Brent take here where Tech is Made
Simple last week Microsoft rolled out
the latest patch to the updates for May
of this year
and for Windows 11 2282 if we head over
to update history the update was
kb5026372
which would have been downloaded and
installed automatically onto your device
as the Patch Tuesday updates are known
to do
now once again just to give you a quick
heads up that there are now reports that
the update is once again
um like so many of these updates are
known to do is causing issues and this
is unfortunate but at this stage
Microsoft hasn't confirmed these issues
and there's nothing officially mentioned
by Microsoft
over on their known issues Health
dashboard page at this stage but most of
the reports are user feedback on
Microsoft's feedback Hub over on the
Microsoft forums and also there are
reports over on Reddit
now um just to look at the two main
issues which are being reported on
regarding the update and the first is
it's causing issues with VPN connections
and where there is a problem with the
layer 2 tunneling protocol
and the Internet Protocol security which
um the update obviously has broken to
some degree or the other and mainly um
users are seeing a decrease in download
and upload speeds
um after the update has been applied
while using a VPN so it's causing issues
with VPN connections and then the next
issue um
if we just head over to one of those
forums is the update is actually itself
failing to install
so the update is not installing and it's
causing the error
0x800-f081f and it's also generating
another error in some cases
eight double zero seven double zero
double zero two
and that's over on Microsoft's feedback
Hub and as we can see over on the
Microsoft Community forums and um
regarding the updates I'm failing to
install
um with that error and that's typically
related to a issue with the Windows
update components or a corrupted or
corrupted system files on your computer
now
I have posted a video previously um on
how to deal with Windows update issues
as an example when updates are failing
to install and I'll leave that video
down below as it will just provide you
with some useful info
but if you're not coming right any
negatives are outweighing the positives
with the update where you are
experiencing these issues and it's
really giving you a headache and causing
a headache when it comes to using your
OS then what you can do as mentioned is
you head back to your update history and
you head down to uninstall updates you
locate the update
kb5026372 you click on uninstall follow
the prompts and then you'd have to
restart your device
and to uninstall the update but just
take note though because it is a
compulsory automatic update it will just
try to reinstall itself automatically
again so what I would suggest is pause
the update for a couple of weeks until
the next update arrives but nonetheless
unfortunate
um as mentioned not officially confirmed
as yet by Microsoft and if that does
change I'll let you know but as
mentioned the main two issues are VPN
connection problems and update
installation issues so thanks for
watching and I will see you in the next
one
