Malia Obama, Michelle Obama's older daughter, will direct shortly. According to People, the 24-year-old is making a short film for actor Donald Glover's new production firm Gilga.
Their second project together. Swarm, a horror thriller series, featured Donald Glover and Malia Obama.
Mr. Glover recalls a crucial conversation with the young director before the announcement. He told Ms. Obama that her first effort is risky. He didn't discuss the new picture.
