Did you know this in The mario Movie? At the rainbow road, mario made a promise to Peach that he would buy her a pet turtle if she came to Brooklyn. Surprisingly, it all happened after bowser was defeated in Brooklyn, with Peach joining the quest. And the pet turtle itself was a mini bowser.
