Eyewitness News provides and update on breaking news of the morning - plus a funeral for Newark Firefighter Wayne Brooks, Jr. is being held at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
Brooks Jr., 49, and Augusto Acabou, 45, both made the ultimate sacrifice just over one week ago.
The two Newark firefighters were killed in a cargo ship fire at Port Newark.
Brooks, Jr. was a 16-year veteran and assigned to Ladder 4 in the South Ironbound neighborhood. He was described as someone with a big personality who was always smiling. Close friends called him "Bear."
