here again on our second show it is such

a pleasure to have you here

hi I'm very excited for the second

episode I can't believe we survived

first one and now we are here and gonna

tell even more stories

um and I am excited to hear from you

today as I told my Saint Lucia stories

of um the past week and told you a

little about the elephant by Hina the

spider

um if you missed that musica watched the

previous episode

um

would you like to share your travel

stories with us today and your

experiences of the South African travel

industry as well as your International

stories

sure sure so I am back in 2019. my

husband and I actually traveled to

Sydney Australia we went to my cousin's

wedding and it was the most amazing

experience it was my second

international travel experience and the

first one with my husband

and it was it was just such an amazing

experience like our travel there was

insane we were like in transit for 22

hours and let me just start yeah we took

connecting flights and I will never do

that again because if it's like one one

flight like from Sydney you go to

Brisbane and then you could go to joburg

and uh that is like 14 hours which I'm

totally fine with but like 22 hours in

transit

that was the most horrific experience

ever but the airline that we took um we

took Qantas which is Australia's Airline

and that they made it such a comfortable

experience since the first flight up

until we landed at Sydney

um they yeah it was like a really it was

a really cool it wasn't like South

African Airways or British Airways the

ones that we're

familiar with

um you know Qantas is really really

um amazing it was like a little step up

there and I would definitely recommend

them if you're going to Sydney Australia

or anywhere in Australia yeah but yeah

our flights it was just 22 hours is

really long and when we got to

um we when we got to Sydney now first

I'm going to tell you about when we got

to Brisbane

we were actually late like we landed

late and Strauss and I that's my

husband's name Strauss Strauss and I

were we just heard over the intercom you

know the last flight of you know our

flight number is leaving to Sydney in 10

minutes

oh wow we didn't know where to go and we

asked some of the people that were

working there where we needed to go and

they were like no it's on the other side

of the airport and we're like running

and

we had to go downstairs with the

elevator and we just like ran

to where we had to get on Thursday

and as we ran I looked on my right and I

was like ah there's a Tiffany store and

Tiffany is like my favorite dealer and

we don't have a Tiffany in South Africa

and I was like I need to go in there

I'm not gonna make my fly and Strauss

was like I'm pretty sure there's other

Tiffany's over there

it was like a small like boutique store

Tiffany

but I was I was like devastated I'm like

what if I never see that story again

don't you at least find another Soul

same way out

yes yes one time two two ones I'll tell

you about the letter but the flagship

store in Sydney

oh man

I just want to live there and have

everything

I literally like having Breakfast at

Tiffany's I would love that but in any

case so we got to the Sydney airport and

my uncle and my dad my mom and dad

actually flew they flew straight out uh

we we actually had the privilege of

going with my mom and my dad and my

grand and also my cousin's wedding and

they flew straight

um and so they also collected us from

the airport my father and my uncle

and they took us to our Airbnb like we

booked someone's flat as an Airbnb and

we didn't go all Grand with with where

we stayed because we wanted to save our

money for all the experiences so we

didn't stay at any like smart places but

we stayed at one smart place but in any

case I'm not gonna jump the gun so when

we got to our flat we were Jade lagged

and it felt like I could sleep for three

days it totally messed up my mind and my

body clock and the next moment we had a

phone call and he and and my uncle was

like you need to get up we're like at

the restaurant waiting for you guys for

breakfast and I'm like I'm just like I'm

super tired

but

it was like walking distance from our

flats or our apartment or whatever

and um we we walked there and that was

that helped us to wake up a little

but when we had breakfast just like

meeting the rest of the family we hadn't

seen and I think it was like 10 years

um

it was just amazing to see everyone

again and just you know connecting with

family it's so special

um so we've had breakfast there and then

we went back to our flats and we slept a

little more

um but we were planning to go to my

cousin's wedding but before the wedding

if we were so privileged to um celebrate

my dad's birthday over there and we went

to this this place it's like a really

small it's not really a bakery but it's

called La Renaissance and we went there

to celebrate his birthday and have some

cake and have some coffees and stuff and

when we got there there was literally a

line of like easily 13 people and we

waited in line

to actually go into the store

um you can either have like a takeaway

or you can go at the back there were

like places to sit to set at but when

you get in there it's like a candy store

it's not a candy store but what I mean

is like I felt like a kid in a candy

store because they were it felt like

hundreds of macaroons

every different color different flavors

like you would have like two yellow ones

and the one is like a lemon meringue and

the other one is like lemon and stash

your green ones and they had like death

by chocolates white chocolate macaroons

they had like raspberry and each of them

had like their own unique filling and

I'm like I'm having it all I don't know

but I settled for like three macaroons

and my dad had like he actually had like

lemon meringue they had these like

slices of cake it's about this bake and

they had like small little Tarts which

is like the steak and

um they had oh man they just took out a

fresh like baked croissants out of there

so you can just imagine

what it smelled like

they had the plain ones as well

um but they had like ham and cheese and

like cheese and tomato with a little bit

of basil pesto inside it sounds

delicious oh man it was so good I wish I

could go back there right now

but any case like my hat my mom had like

this pecanet Tarts little tarts

and my dad had lemon meringue he loved

like lemon flavored stuff so he had like

a lemon meringue pie and we all agreed

like we're gonna have like a bit of each

because we don't end up with like 20

cakes on our table

here we were sitting like all four

it was just us for celebrating my dad's

birthday and these huge doves

they kept on flying to our table because

they want to eat our cake and we just

had to like chase them away and the

other couple that were sitting like

right next to us they stood up and they

left and they had they had lunch there

and these doves they just came in and it

looked like they had like a whole hot

dog in their mouth

but it was like a massive Dove it's like

this size you know wow like we have here

that was crazy

that was really it was a different

experience to what you would think

there's small a smart place you know in

the beginning or you know when when you

go in but then you know the doves are

sort of like eating your cake

yeah

it's not the same experience it's a

really contrasting experience but in any

case something that I learned to drink

in Sydney was a flat white

so we don't get well we didn't used to

have that in South Africa we do now

but flat white was just it's not like

like a cafe latte

but it's like

it's like a cappuccino but it is not as

strong it it's really like it's exactly

what the name says like a flat white and

it was the most beautiful thing I have

ever tasted

so that was definitely something that I

tried out there and it was

so good I'm so glad that we have that

here now and you know we get flat white

here at our Plato oh nice yeah they have

that

[Laughter]

so yeah um we so we are on our way to my

cousin's wedding

um it was in the hunter Valley so that

is like Stellenbosch here in Cape Town

so it's a wine like a wine room yes yes

the winelands and our first

um wine farm that we visited was like

Pig's Peak Winery so it the logo is like

this fat pig and I was like who names

their wives after like a pig's Peak you

know a pig in one has nothing to do with

one one another but

in like they were barrels and barrels

and barrels of wine and once we started

the tasting it was like it tasted

nothing it smelled nothing like pigs but

it was the most amazing wine it actually

is you know Australia their winelands

and the ones they make there they

compare very well with South African

wines you know you can it was really

fruity and you can you know it was such

a rich experience like each and every

wine we had like uh three raids

I think one rose and the rest was white

wine

and it was

Exquisite like you could taste the

different notes of vanilla uh you could

taste it the nodes of Peach and then

also I think one of the ones that had

strawberry notes in it as well which was

very really surprising because normally

you would not get that in a white wine

you would rather get that in like a a

rose or something like that

um but yeah it was it was so good like

wheat I think we bought like two bottles

of wine there which is like eighty

dollars each which we just had to have

it yeah it was so good and my uncle was

like no they normally get it like and

delivered at their house you know they

have like a monthly subscription but

that's at another form Thomas wines

um

I need to ask this question as a proudly

South African do you prefer South

African wine or Aussie wine

they their wine some of their wine is in

a different category for example like

you know champagne well our method cap

classique yes they have like a red wine

method cap classic but it's not I don't

think it's an MCC because the bubbles in

the wine is not as crisp or it's it's

way softer

and we also bought a bottle of wine um

you know let's call it a fizzy wine I

don't know what the term is I'm sorry if

it's not the right serve for whoever it

is

but that was really amazing uh we went

to one of the other Farms

um I think it was called lindemann's or

something like that but we had a wine

tasting there but it was also a food

pairing so there were like chocolates

and nougat I think it was only chocolate

and nougat

um and one of the wines that we tasted

it was a white wine like super sweets

like incredibly sweet it's a dessert

wine yes and they paired that with white

chili chocolates

like I've never had white chili

chocolates so that was really something

that stood out for me and

um so you had to eat like the white

chili chocolates take a bite and then

wait a little while and then have you

ordered sweet dessert wine

and then take a bite again

and it was amazing to see how different

it tastes after you drink the wine the

tingling on your tongue was a little bit

more but there were other flavors that

that you could taste you know it's like

your taste buds exploded like after you

had the bearing and I was like I need to

get some of these watches

because it's so uncommon like I haven't

seen that anywhere else not that I like

looked for it but you know you don't

really see that in the shops

um

we actually visited a lint store there

as well and they didn't have like a

white chili chocolate and so that was

really special for me

it sounds amazing

it was so yeah that was on our way to um

you know we traveled through the hunter

Valley

um to the ironbark well their wedding

reception was at the iron Barger estate

but we stayed at the Crown Plaza

okay

that was an entirely different

experience like when when you're there

like you get your your car to go into

your uh we didn't stay in the hotel we

were lucky enough to stay at one of

these Like Houses

and um me and my family stayed over

there and the one morning uh like we

slept there for the evening we had

dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and

the next morning I woke up like really

early I think it was like 5 30 or

something but it was already like

um it wasn't dark anymore and I decided

to go for a walk

little did I know that there were

kangaroos roaming around

and it was like I was taking a walk and

when I looked up there was a kangaroo

standing like a meter and a half

you know away from me and I was like

that's dangerous you know because

they're not the friendliest of animals

and you know it's a wild animal so you

respect the wild animal or wildlife

and he was he didn't see me so I was

like quickly running back

with my phone because I'm like I had to

take a picture you know and I went back

and as I walked up to him just before I

took the photo he spotted me and like he

hopped away but just that moment you

know when our eyes made it was like it

was a totally different experience like

you could say hi but from a distance

but it was definitely a connection

between me and the kangaroo it's

something that I can't explain but like

you had a little bit of communication

and I think it was because it was like

really early in the morning and there

weren't really any like traffic and and

you know in people's minds still

um but that was that was really cool so

I ran home and I was like you gotta wake

up straws I just saw a kangaroo and he

was like oh

[Laughter]

so then we went to breakfast for the

first time during our visit at the Crown

Plaza Adele

I walked in there and there was like

this massive hole with obviously there

were lots of tables but like when you

look at it they had like a breakfast

buffet

but it's not a breakfast buffet like

like we know

there was breakfast from

it seemed like every country

in every country like they had Japanese

breakfast they had Chinese they had

um

I think it was a Thai type of breakfast

with all their kinds of fruits and you

could literally go and tell them what

you want made and they will make it for

you like you would go and order at the

chef and they would make it for you and

you would go and fetch it

and I had I think that they had like

um Belgium waffles there as well so you

get like the really sweet the really

salty and the in-between but just this

you are really spoiled for Choice over

there I was like

wow

that was such an amazing experience

um like you would go for like a

excuse me

sort of like a brunch because you know

you would eat so much

because you were literally like we were

there for like four days I think and

every morning we would try something

different

um so and then we had like sort of like

a dessert breakfast after after you eat

like your normal breakfast and

I know that they they also had macaroons

they're like chocolate macaroons for

breakfast and I was like I'm gonna have

that with a flat white

okay it sounds like you really love your

macaroons do you have a sweet tooth yes

I do I'd love it with champagne like a

good verb

with a with a really tasty macaroon but

like a lot of them I I would eat that

for lunch

I understand

yeah yeah so yeah that that whole

Cuisine experience wow I'm talking a lot

about food today you would think that

I'm hungry

but in any case that whole Cuisine

experience was something that I had

never experienced before well I haven't

traveled a lot overseas before

um but yeah that was something

totally like I didn't eat that was

unexpected for me so it was really a

surprise

um and it was

everyone was like their jaws dropped

when we walked in there and we saw what

was happening

and what was available

but I must say the people there just get

away from the food a little the people

here they're a lot like praetorian

people you know here in South Africa

just to compare

um you know they're very open and

friendly

um the temperature there is pretty much

the same that we experience here maybe a

degree colder

um but it's I think it yeah maybe a

degree or two colder but um it is

it was like literally if you would pick

me up up here and put me down there like

you would just go on you don't have to

climatize or yeah you know certain

countries have a lot of clicks

um also here in South Africa but in any

case

um you know and it's difficult to get

into the groove

um day-to-day making friends and stuff

but there it wasn't like that at all

um I'm pretty sure it's like

um it's different when you immigrate

there

um as opposed to being on holiday but we

made connections not only with

Australian citizens but also with other

tourists

um so

the wedding was was amazing

um but then we traveled back to uh to

Sydney

and um we went to the Madame to sew that

museum with all the waxed models and so

on and

um we made our way through but we were

at a curious shop Strasse and I and we

heard two um two ladies um just standing

right behind us and we thought that was

an Australian accents and I turned

around and I'm like hey how are you and

we actually connected the the one lady

is from Texas and yeah we made we

actually made friends on Facebook and I

see her every now and again and she's

she's doing really well but um it's so

amazing how we connected with other

people not only like Australian people

um but people from around the world I

think that a lot of people go there you

know because the Sydney Opera House is

there

and um yeah it was just amazing to meet

people and they were really friendly not

like overly friendly but just like

normal

um and yeah the people there are

very welcoming if I can explain it like

that but in any case

um the when Strauss and I went to the

Madame just so

um we saw all it was my first time going

to a museum like that and they have

these for whoever doesn't know they have

these life-size wax models of

celebrities

um they had like the royal family and

they had histor um like in Napoleon they

had historical

um figures there and then also you know

like pop stars and stuff like that and

we we took a lot of pictures we had so

much fun you know we didn't like just

pose but we were like in the moments

there was like a wolverine wax model

um

like with the Wolverine uh you know the

claws coming out

um and we had so much fun with the

angles I remember Strauss had that

Wolverine like claw and I took the

picture from rights you know in France

and you just see these clothes you know

looking up it was like you're looking up

to uh the person and um yeah that was

really cool

amazing

yeah yeah favorite figure to see

except for Wolverine

well I took the coolest picture with

Spider-Man he's like crawling on the

ground and I got underneath him

to make it look like we were crawling on

on a building

that wasn't my favorite one but that was

my favorite picture though

um I think that

one of the models that they made

or that was there was Taylor Swift

and I think that she was my favorite one

because when we travel Strauss and I we

normally listen to one of her albums

um and that brings up a lot of memories

for us

um and I think that that's the reason

why she was my favorite

um

that actually had

um I can't remember his name now Carl

Drogo from Game of Thrones yes Jason

Momoa yes

she's just like a little so now he's a

lot taller like like a half a head

taller than what I am

um but it was it was good meeting him in

wax models

[Laughter]

okay what is fast enough to meet him

yeah I think he didn't talk

but they did not have

that I would love to meet in person is

Jack Nicholson

oh interesting yeah I must say he's one

of the people that I would really like

to meet one day

um I like I love his his acting style

and I think that a lot of times his

personality comes out

um and he just Feels Like Home to me

um he feels like he could like literally

fit in with our family because my dad

and his brother they are a lot like him

in a sense more my my more my uncle

he's not with us anymore but in any case

that he they're also like joking you

know tongue-in-cheek type of things

but yeah that is that is someone that I

would like to meet maybe I will one day

well we've been all in the universe now

so we'll see what happens yeah Jack if

you're watching the show you need to

come with me

um but in any case the madams is so um

experience was really good

um and in the same sort of like block

there was an aquarium

um yeah yeah it's really really cool so

um our aquarium here is in kwazulu-natal

and it's called the ushaka aquarium and

um

that was sort of like my frame of

reference but they had different

tanks uh where all of the difference

obviously all the different fishes swam

but they had like this tunnel uh with

the glass that go it looks like you're

like under the fish and I just stood

there for almost like 43 minutes and I

was just washing watching these fish

um fish really mesmerizes me I like get

like really creative when I'm at the

coast side and seeing all like the sea

life and animal life

um but that was I was just standing

there and taking soaking it all in like

mother nature and you just feel like you

connect in a different way with yourself

and you know with God and

some people call it the universe but

it's like you have

a different kind of clarity when well I

have a different kind of clarity when I

walk out there

and it was so like my soul

standstill you know it's not like you're

thinking of a thousand things that you

have to do or you know places you have

to go people that you have to meet it's

just like you can just

breathe and be

there's nothing amazing

oh man yeah I really I feel really

peaceful when I see you know anywhere

where I am in nature where you can just

connect

um especially when you're on the beach

as well

um I feel like I can really connect

um you know with with myself and you

know what's going on but yeah that was

that was that what the Aquaria

the aquarium did for me

it sounds amazing what

your favorite normal brother

starfish and Jellyfish they like

I I can literally watch those jellyfish

fish you know in ushaka they had like

they have a wide variety of jellyfish

um some of them are like super small and

they um as a part of them looks like an

Archie you know they're citrus fruits

um you have Tangerine for the rest of

the world

I gotcha

but um some of them look like that and

they're just like

and um I think some of them you know

when you put on that purple lights on

them

they get illuminate that illumination

light they illuminate

um but they have like these long

tentacles

um but yeah

I think I didn't see some of them there

unless I missed them hopefully I didn't

but yeah starfish is also one of my

favorites and do you know about sea

cucumbers they have that there

that is pretty interesting I know it's

actually part of the more like Asian

Cuisine I'm not exactly sure which but I

know it's part of the cuisine it's

actually a delicacy in some Nations

um but I've not had the pleasure of

trying that yet

would you like to

possibilities are always there

okay so you feel like quite adventurous

to try new things travel yes yes but I

don't think I am that adventurous yet

but we'll get there

I know that

um in some

country a puffer fish is also a delicacy

but that thing can kill you like when

you cut it it's wrong you know before

you serve it

it can kill you yeah I think that's why

my adventurous side is a bit cautious at

this stage because I don't want to eat

something that might kill me but

no no I wouldn't think so

but in any case while we were there

um in that same block you can interact

with um you know the the wildlife that

is you know known in Australia like

koala bears oh

yeah yeah so we went into this one

um enclosure where there were a couple

of koala bears and they were like you

know don't touch the koala bears and I'm

like okay I would really love to and

um in this one tree there was a mommy

and a baby on her back

and the baby was like it wasn't too

small but it was the cutest thing that

I've ever seen and I went a little

closer to take a couple of pictures and

it looked like this mom once wanted to

come to me and I'm just like I'm

standing there I wasn't like reaching

out or anything and and the guard was

like stand back you don't want the koala

bear to get onto you

because they have syphilis did you know

that

I did not know that

it's something that they carry naturally

so when you hold a koala bear that you

can literally get syphilis

that is really interesting so yeah I

would have advised untouched

no I I was really surprised to to hear

that he said that

you know you don't we don't have our

animals every year doesn't have that no

they don't

uh but yeah that was quite an

interesting fact

um but in the set at the same like let's

call it a zoo for arguments I think it

is the the Sydney Zoo

um but they had like wallabies there and

like a really small kangaroo I think it

is like a a different specie of kangaroo

but they obviously they're in the same

family

um but it wasn't even it was like 800

millimeters High

oh wow that is really small yeah and

it's like a fully grown

um

my mind just went blank

it was asleep

Bilby 's and

also all sorts of animals that we're not

used to

um yeah that it was quite an interesting

first

the koalas

um and we also went to the Blue

Mountains

where the where the koalas live and just

you know just after I think it was a

couple of months after we came back

um there were this hectic wildfires that

lasted for over I don't know how long it

lasted but it was a couple weeks

um where everything just burned down

um so we were lucky enough to see the

Blue Mountains before that had happened

it's such a scary thing hey you know

because all of those animals you know

their homes are gone

like where do where do they go

yeah it is a really sad sad thing that

happens and we also gave those wildfires

here especially a few years back with

the diesner fires it was it's it's

horrific to see that and so many animals

lose their lives unfortunately do that

that's why prevention is really the cure

to that

let me tell you about the Tiffany story

oh so

um yeah yeah so you know that I worked

for a jeweler over here

uh before I started born intelligence

and um we always used to look at you

know what the influential Jewelers of

the world is doing

um and then we would take sort of like

inspiration from that in order to like

birth your own thing

um you know Concepts from here and there

and everywhere and put your own spin on

it

um with your own Concepts

um and uh Jewelers that I always loved

looking at

um you know online and seeing magazine

ads were specifically van cleefenor pal

and Tiffany's and Burberry

so I did not know that there was a van

cleefenor pal there but I did know about

Tiffany's so

um we went we actually went to

there's a there's like one street where

all the luxury stores are at right and

um on our way to the Tiffany flagship

store it's like two stories high like it

was just wow but in any case on our way

there I saw that they had event Leaf in

our Palm I'm like

first

[Laughter]

they have so when we got in there I

asked that uh the guy that helped us if

they had the zipper necklace

so they designed a zippered necklace

apparently it took like 18 years to

perfect

so what it looks like is that you know

it's a zipper necklace that comes up to

here and then it it has like tussles of

um it's different kind of designs but

the specific one I had on uh I got to

try it out I'll tell you about that now

um had like um Emerald beads and

that thing was amazing so just to get to

the point uh when you when you take off

the zipper necklace you can actually

turn it into a bracelet oh that is quite

nice yeah like you take off the back

um of the necklace and then you zip it

so that it's closed and then it goes

onto your wrist like a cuff bracelet

yes

that just broke my brain and I was

asking why that helped us you know like

um I saw that you guys have different

designs do you have one here perhaps and

he went to the safe

to let me try it on

I told him uh you know we're from South

Africa

um I have watched you guys online do you

have that I just want to see it and he

brought it out and

um and he was like would you like to try

it on I'm like

okay

yes I would and he brought the champagne

and we were in this private viewing room

um and he was telling us about the

history of Van Cleef and arpel and you

know their Factory and

the people working there um their their

uh designers their jewelry designers

um a lot of the history and stuff you

can also see on their websites really

really amazing they have like Master

Jewelers that work with them for them

and um he was telling us all about the

history

of the zipper necklace

so

that's how he told us about it took 18

years to perfect and they're still busy

like making tweaks and stuff to it and

just to get it like perfect perfect

perfect

um but yeah that was my experience at

ventley funeral pal and of course

um they had I tried on other jewelry as

well

like they have this one ring that can

change like it looked like this but it's

a circle that looked like this and it's

a in between it's not an in between the

ring finger but it can be

um but like you would wear it on your

ring finger over here but then it comes

here and it ends here so there you have

like a little flower over here

um and then you would have like a

butterfly or something they have

different designs or a smaller flower

the one that I specifically had on it

was like a lotus flower

um it was a white gold and diamond ring

and it was I couldn't stop looking at it

it's like I can see it now on my hand

one day I will own one but

it was um

it was with the whole experience of

trying on jewelry hearing you know what

the history is of how they design and

how they make it until the final

products it was it was very informative

actually you know it was it's it's

something it's really in depth

and it's a little bit different than

what I've learned um but I wasn't like

part of the jewelry manufacturing

process or anything uh when I worked for

our jewelry company over here

um but yeah there were there was

um another necklace that I had tried on

it's a long necklace and it goes

um to your navel and they have this

specific or iconic flower that they make

so um it's almost it it has like

it looks like a heart but then it's four

Hearts

um that that forms that little flower

and they have

in an incredible way of like

um

I don't know how to explain it

um but it looks like you know it it like

it's engraved like it forms little lines

um and then it has like a like a pave

sort of um finish to it

um pave is like it looks like uh

polka dots not polka dots wow I'm really

not good with my luxury service today

but it's little balls that form the edge

of

um of that little flower and they had

like every now and again they have like

a flower here uh here and there and you

can um also like uh that it's also a

transformational

necklace

um but yeah once we were done with that

experience I was super excited like my

dad gave me some money to actually buy

something for me on the trip

and we went to Tiffany's oh nice

little blue box

I did

so we went in there and

when you go in there you can see it's

like a double story store

so I went in there and first they had um

the place where we got in

um that I think that they had two or

three entrances but the place where we

entered they had like their homeware

and like I I wasn't familiar with their

homeware but they make like

um they had like this baby seats with a

comb and a brush

um in in this cute little box

um and they had I think they had like

teaspoons and stuff but they had like a

whole homeware collection with plates

and cups and everything and I'm like I

need to get past here because I want to

see the jewelry

so we went around the corner

um and I just saw the the different

collections like they had their

engagement ring within their engagement

ring collection they have different

collections like the Tiffany tea

engagement ring and the Celeste and so

on

um so we went to the engagement ring

section section because I wanted to see

how how the diamonds compare with the

diamonds that we get here in South

Africa although I know that we sell

diamonds to various countries and

various Brands like Cartier Tiffany you

know all those famous brands

and um when I picked up I picked up a

Tiffany T engagement ring it was like a

cushion cut but then you have the t's

right next to it that goes that forms

the band on your finger

and it was like a champagne yellow

diamond which is my favorite and I'm

like I have to have this and straws is

like you're already having

[Music]

I know but it's not a Tiffany ring

but in any case uh we we moved on

[Laughter]

in my heart I didn't move on

um I'd like to see the different

Collections and they have like a

celebratory collection and it's it's

little balls like they have earrings and

they have a ring and they have a

necklace like that as well

and I was eyeing this necklace for years

and I'm like I can't believe that they

had that there

and I was looking at you know what the

different options are I remember there

was this little bee

um you know it's like that it was a

yellow gold bee with diamonds that form

those stripes

um and that really resonated with me

just because in Afrikaans a lot of

people call me shanaki baby and that

just means like Shanae B but in

Afrikaans and Rhymes

um and so I was like pondering am I

gonna take the B necklace or am I gonna

take the one that I really really want

so I ended up buying um a white girl no

it was a silver

necklace with that celebratory ball and

I was just like in heaven you know going

through that whole purchase

um and really just enjoying we got

champagne there as well because they

were like would you like champagne I was

like how's yeah I just had some but

let's do it again

and it was it was really cool

um to actually walk out with my very own

Tiffany bag

um but I would definitely go back there

again

um Strauss said that he would save up

for my Tiffany engagement ring

but I think we would rather use that to

go and travel like all over the world

um but yeah that was also our last day

um at Tiffany oh well on on our holiday

so it was really just like cherry on the

cake you know that we had to that we

could

a visit there and just a good way to end

a holiday so yeah that sounds amazing so

I guess your future trips involve

locations of Tiffany's and Van Cleef on

our pal in different countries like

Italy and France and you know all over

the world

yes you are correct

yeah it was just the whole trip going

there and coming back obviously you're

really sad to come back because you want

to stay on holiday forever

it was really amazing you know the whole

experience

see new places and stores and Brands

like I'm a really big fan of Brands like

I'm a brand person

um getting to know

their culture

um and to see that it's not as different

from our culture

um as as you would think

and the accent I picked up a slight

accent while I was there but I left it

there

but yeah it was it was good it was good

thank you for sharing Shanae I really

appreciate it and I'm excited to hear
