hope that you live up to the title that
you've given to your YouTube channel but
it does look really good just from the
first frame we are checking out
record-breaking thali in Pune India Matt
Stoney has no chance I love Giant Food I
did have a thali while we were in India
we had a Rajasthani meal and it was
gorgeous and beautiful oh my God I could
not finish the food oh my God it was
just so much it was so much and like I
really tried jabby and I were like
[Applause]
this meal is amazing it was like a
really lovely meal and you just couldn't
couldn't sometimes you hit a cap yeah
and I was like what happened I thought I
had a Hollow Leg but clearly I do not
let's see what this is all about you
guys if you haven't already please don't
forget to subscribe click the Bell icon
all notifications and upload this video
let's get into it wow different products
yeah are these all around the platters
yes
all of them
the best ever India road trips sprang
into action kicking off from Mumbai then
heading to Pune where we found India's
most unexpected menu they said you can
go in the Emu cage but don't get close
to them
some call it the Oxford of the East with
the most universities of any city
Modern I.T student life so Pune has been
a half for education for a very long
time Pune does it fit and today we're
after the Holy Grail of hugeness aoji
kauji's mind-melting tolly platter
50 items
consists of at least 10 to 15 things in
it but I'm not taking this on alone it's
our talk from the channel Chow Down my
Lane will be by my side okay I know all
the coolest places I'm so happy I'm with
you
concoctions loaded with mysterious
ingredients do you eat that part to
pune's finest street food even though it
hurts your hands you have to have it
super high so prepare to Chow Down with
two of the most huggable dudes in the
food show because today we're taking on
pune's biggest eats
wow that looks amazing
oh
uncle's having a nap yeah early morning
time for breakfast forget your waffles
in your Captain Crunch this is Jessica's
missal serving this classic maharashan
breakfast for the last five years in the
kitchen with my dude Akshay sir all
right thank you so much for inviting us
back here we're here because you have
this really unique food something I've
never seen before basically we are into
snacks type food we saw is hard to
Define since its recipe can change in
every region I do know that it's served
hot it looks really spicy is that yeah
you see no it's not it looks like spicy
because this Masala ah the red something
is making out what is making it red it's
red chili okay
[Laughter]
that's like my classic my mom would have
like white friends come over or whatever
and they'd be like isn't that spicy and
then she's like no oh it's not spicy and
then they would eat something be like
what's this green thing oh it's just
green chili that's Serrano dead it's
just Cayenne don't worry don't worry
about it it's fine I love that so good
his face as well when he said that where
he was just like literally just like it
was not spicy oh my god do you eat that
part no no the charcoal removed it now
okay
this smoked Masala will be made by his
father the creator of the recipe
starting with a clay pot layered first
with mashed potato crispy ground flour
sub diced onion mint coriander and then
a small vessel containing ghee or
clarified butter I love wearing the
magic ocher he's grabbing the charcoal
blow it off a little bit
wow
all that smokiness is going to affect
the flavor inside yeah I cannot wait to
try this out
yikes that looks so good okay
and then he's gonna put in well he's
calling it gravy earlier so first it's
not hot at all
we need to mix it up so yeah
[Music]
oh right which is going to be soaking up
all these juices here this is how it
should become try it out cheers I'm so
hungry I can't I know
good whoa that is delicious and it's
very spicy and that's why you serve this
with a special bread called The Cow your
bread looks good don't you let that
spicy level goes down try it out oh yeah
that's right oh my God so bad spicy part
of it this guy knows is this yogurt yes
is this for the end some people have it
in the end and some people like it's
very spicy they mix it up yeah I'm gonna
try it out too
[Music]
so many great combinations just in this
one simple plate this is my favorite
edition Pune is everyone doing this
you'll find a lot of different
combinations the gravy itself changes
probably every 10 15 kilometers so basic
Essence also changes at times the same
man this is a great start but we're just
getting started there are a lot of
things to get to come wow you better
finish that bread
guys check out this giant veg tally
we'll get to that stuff but first street
food
there's nothing better than a quick
affordable bite and Avada is one of the
best in Pune this doll started 20 years
ago each morning mom makes the batter
and Dad fries it and sells it all the
years their fried creation has helped
put their kids through college
make this oh and your wife now is
sleeping yes
so now she's gone back home and cooking
for the family oh my God the way I
didn't mean she's lazy I mean she's got
to be tired it's so much work
make models from this soak Sago mixture
and then the green mint coriander
chocolate and coconut chutney
that looks delicious texture on the
outside like all these little balls
that's really bumpy and looks crispy
Cheers Cheers
oh it just tastes like American hash
browns dip it in the stock we'll eat
some sauce
like mashed potatoes and this is a
coconut chutney yeah
oh my God that makes a big difference my
gosh look at that look inside there
appreciate it so good
we have a final destination now how do
you say the name of this restaurant The
Smiths is called
means come and eat and go out happy and
the reason we are here is for the
biggest veg tally in the world is that
right veg okay you've already done this
you said you ate about 15 so you ate
like this much of one yeah it's immense
I have six more friends who came over
and we could finish that thali friends
tell me more about this friend thing
these are people who just hang out with
you voluntarily because they like you
thank you
I bet you that sarcasm was hard to play
boss platter it costs around 60 but
considering it could feed a whole group
of um that's really well seems like a
great deal to me it is oh yeah the owner
and big boss Creator rajvir swung by to
answer my burning questions how many
people does this feed ten people at
least that's pretty good I think it's
perfect because there's so many options
you don't have to choose one thing
because I'm like that too I don't want
to have just one oh my gosh you guys and
try different things and here you have
the big boss with how many items on it
at least 32 that's pretty good the big
boss dolly is served with 12 uniquely
flavored bread
vegetarian ingredients stuffed inside of
dough flattened then fried on the flat
top yeah each Bowl contains a different
signature blend of yum I can't believe
you have 12. yes 12 on here 12 unique
different places
oh my God can I ask you a quick question
please don't be shy about this no no
where do I get boots with like a Gold
Toe can you show these wow
so I got it from Dubai oh you're like a
boot collector yeah oh wow assembly of
the Tali is a crucial step it starts
with a 36 inch platter first building
the outside edges lining it with over a
dozen sub G's vegetable gravies or
curries are ready 16 different ones yeah
oh my gosh this looks legendary seven of
them plus yogurt and white butter oh my
God outside oh my Lord so all the protas
that we're cooking up 12 of them are
going on the platter now this is my kind
of art right here oh my gosh you guys
are the true creators
wow look at that just grating a ton of
cheese and it's not a whole steak no no
I don't even need the cheese I know
everything else
a lot of people are going to be in the
comments like yeah Matt Stoney call Matt
Stony Hilliard it no we won't maybe I
don't know he can come to India and try
it out one thing I learned last time
when I had another a big tally in Mumbai
is do not ever try to do an eating
challenge with Indian food Indian food
some of the most like filling heavy yes
I've ever tried yeah this is all healthy
because it's vegetarian right yeah we
gotta jump into this here is
is
Indian prata this is all Indian
Masala you dip it like that yes
essentially the cheese that's used in so
many dishes here in India
oh man that is the right way to make
cauliflower cheese
with the rice that tastes very good for
everyone it's very good this guy came
here
everybody is wondering what this is this
is
what caring everyone
another year you're so Smoky I love that
that's one of my favorites ever everyone
is wondering what is going on here it's
green why let's try it out spinach
is it spinach
this is spinach but he needs a friend
but look at that
um
that's what they do I swear for the
remainder of this trip any food that is
a nine out of 10 or higher volleyball
only below five yeah
so so we do this we're gonna jump ahead
to kill people seven types of dessert I
have not tried this it's like
in a rubbery let's try it out
oh it's like silky and creamy just sweet
enough and then that nice bready yeah
the normal bread that we use every day
with rubbery yes all right cheers oh I
love that sauce oh okay
we're gonna try a little bit more and
then share it with all of our friends
and the people behind the camera who you
know they work so hard yeah good
now first of all I want to give you a
nice dirty handshake thank you so much
for sure
that I really wanted both of these are
like insane unique food and just you
know I mean what the heck look at this
next time on the best ever India road
trip we say goodbye to Pune and head
south to Goa where we find the most
unique ingredients I'd never expect to
see
is different it's more like meat it's
more beefy right check out his channel
Chow Down my lane on YouTube and every
other social media he is doing food
reviews in India but also he's going
global now just I like him many more
videos to come all right who wants to
eat wow that was epic oh my God yeah
that really felt like a personal attack
because when am I gonna be able to go to
Pune like you can go I still haven't
been to Pune we always make it to Mumbai
and then because like it's in the same
state right
they're not like next door to each other
and so we spend so much time in Mumbai
and then we're like oh crap we didn't
make it to Pune this time but that
breakfast oh my god oh good oh
everything really looked incredible yeah
usually I see especially American food
channels of like everything is like deep
fried Oreos or like all this
cheeseburger and I guess maybe because I
see it I don't care about a lot of food
chains yes but this one it's these are
things I haven't seen as much of so I'm
like what I've been missing this for my
whole life I'm not gonna lie I have
started making a list anytime I see
something like on YouTube or on
Instagram or whatever if someone is
eating something that I'm like yes
what's that that looks great I save it
yeah so that like it's like a dream list
of mine so if ever I were to go to any
of those places I'd be like oh there was
this restaurant in Pune that looks like
it had something really cool let me pull
up that video again and find out what it
was oh my gosh that breakfast looked
amazing amazing I've never seen anything
like that because I really like there's
this one um snack that I really enjoy
which I guess is kind of like the
classic Bombay snack and it's called
Avada pal where it's basically that's
kind of like Ramen right uh no it's
basically a bread with like a fried
potato
and like some chutneys in it I always
have it with the green chilies as well
and it's so good and that bread is so
nice and then with all of that stuff
with like the gravy and the potato and
the Sev and like that's the thing like
stuff I'm like something about Indian
food really gets me because I'm a sauce
Queen I want all my food dipped in sauce
dripping with sauce like sauteed and
sauce it needs to be Saucy in Indian
food seems to really understand that
yeah like oh you want salt we have 40 be
yeah we have 50 different types of sauce
here and it was made in sauce yeah you
wanted gravy yes well here you go yeah
you want to dip something we have a
hundred that's how you should make food
yeah and then you've got like all these
different flavors too I didn't know if
they had for the Tali if they had any
like pickles and stuff but that was also
something that I was really enjoying it
looked like there was like pickled um
something yeah that oh so good so one of
my favorite breakfasts that I had while
we were out there was a parata just like
a plain one but then with I guess it was
like a lime pickle and curd the yogurt
I was like oh so simple but so delicious
and now I'm obsessed with parato if I
wasn't before now I'm like I may even
like that more than Roti or more than
none that's crazy what but there's so
many cool different types of of breads
out there and that's the other thing get
me started on bread I love bread
baguettes like croissant anything bready
and then naan and so and now I'm finding
out there's more types of bread yeah you
gotta go I need to go to India okay next
time you guys yeah anyway hope you
enjoyed that so hungry I guess we're
gonna go get some snacks now
we'll catch you next time I'm a shower
cook this is ciao
