welcome to core kind today for May 25th

2023. this is the show where I break

down some of the biggest stories

happening in the world Court cutting

including your local TV station may not

be selling after all the war on IPTV is

heating up using Ai and Netflix starts

its password Crackdown we're gonna be

talking about all this and a whole lot

more here in a little bit first though

if you want to find out more about these

stories check out the show notes and the

first pin comment I'll link to each

story there so you can re-bomb for

yourself and come up with your own

opinions I'd love to hear from you if

you're new here and you want to help us

grow do me a big favor hit that

subscribe button hit that thumbs up

doing what are both lets YouTube know

you and Joe will what we do here so they

recommend our videos more people helping

us grow helping us support our families

here and hopefully helping you break

free from The High Cost of cable TV and

still watch what you enjoy let's start

off today with the war on IPTV now IPTV

Services is a generic term but often now

means a legal a live TV streaming

services that often give you access to

live sports and more now the Zone has

partnered up with our video cities I

hope I'm pronouncing that right to use

AI to automatically detect pirate

streams within minutes one of the newest

ways that IPTV Services have been

marketing themselves is putting live

feeds on social media and then putting

links like hey come here check out this

service for 20 bucks 30 bucks a year you

get access to hundreds of live TV

channels while now that zone is

partnering with this company that's

going to use AI to detect the streams

now they're not just detecting a

standard image this AI is specifically

designed for many of the common tricks

are used to get around such features for

example tilting the image a little bit

reversing the image distorting the image

with maybe some watermarks and more have

in the past gone them around the AI

guards and allow them to stream unabated

on social media and other places

now with this software they can detect

they say within minutes over 90 some

percent of uh legal pirate streams even

the ones that are using common tricks to

try to hide what they're doing out there

this is one more attempt in what's

becoming a growing effort to shut down

illegal live TV streaming services

probably because most live TV services

are losing subscribers in the first

quarter of 2023 Only One TV service

added subscribers

um in the first three months of 2023 and

that was YouTube TV and a lot of people

try to say oh it's the first quarter

typically bad way at the Super Bowl you

had March Madness you had all kinds of

stuff happening that would have maybe

helped grow many services and that

didn't happen in the United States every

live TV service in the United States

look at those numbers lost subscribers

in the first quarter as core cutting

accelerates

these companies are investing to try to

shut down their legal competitors

because when the market shrinks they

want to make sure the entire Market's

for them and not being split by these

illegal live TV services look for this

become a bigger focus in the weeks and

years to come as there's a lot of money

being spent to find ways to stop pirate

services

speaking of stopping people not paying

for the service and using it Netflix is

finally starting to roll out their

Crackdown on password sharing here in

the United States it's rolled out in

other parts of the country or other

parts of the world I should say first

and now it's coming to the United States

you will now um reportedly Netflix has

lost 6.25 billion dollars thanks to

password sharing and now they are going

to be using

um their AI to detect people

um sharing passwords not other typical

home area if you are sharing it they're

going to start pestering these people to

pay 7.99 a month to access it monthly

payments prices of Netflix now range

from 699 to 19.99 so it could be a way

to split it a little bit still and have

a cheaper option for somebody who wants

to piggy bank off your account basically

what they're going to do here is track

your IP address for the primary location

now you will still be able to access for

a limited window of time going for

example to a vacation home if you're

Airbnb Hotel wherever traveling you'll

still be able to log in to watch your

content for a limited time but then it's

going to log you out after a while

basically what they're saying here they

detect people who are outside your home

always using your Netflix account

they're going to start saying hey time

to pay up

a little bit interesting to see how this

works with college students if Netflix

ever kind of creates a cheaper option

for college students maybe we'll use one

of those verification systems to say hey

I'm a college student I'm using my

parents Netflix account for example as

many parents still allow their college

age kids to use their accounts and other

things but for now Netflix is saying hey

you have your home market and this is

not unusual other streaming services do

this your home location based on IP is

right here

and if we detect people always using it

outside that home location we're going

to ask you to Pony up a little bit extra

money to help offset our losses there

thanks to um piracy now Netflix says in

many countries they lost subscribers

doing this but the added Revenue by

doing this by people coming back and

re-subscribing or paying in this case

7.99 for the US has more than offset the

losses they experienced by people

canceling and it's actually been on that

Boon for them we'll see how this all

plays out but for now uh if you use

Netflix don't be surprised if you start

getting emails bugging you if you're

sharing your password

all right

um HBO Max rebranded yesterday had a few

hiccups still has some hiccups uh

YouTube TV subscribers are having

problems logging into it if they pay

through YouTube TV

uh Warner Bros Discovery sis fixes are

in the works for that but they now have

over a thousand hours of films and More

in their new Ultimate tier this is a new

tier for 19.99 that brings you 4K well

that has about a thousand hours worth of

movies in there we have the complete

list of every movie that is streaming in

the ultimate tier to help you decide if

you want to upgrade to it it's a bit

pricey currently though if you had the

previous 15.99 plan with HBO Max I

included 4K you'll get that for about

six more months after that you'll either

need to upgrade to keep 4K or you'll be

downgraded to their HD plan there but

it'll still be ad-free with it so let me

know what you think are you planning to

upgrade are you planning not to upgrade

what do you think of this move what do

you think of HBO Max that's my question

of the day leave me a comment are you an

HBO Max customer what do you think of

the new Mac service let me know what you

think of it

all right just in time for Outlander

maybe it's no surprise one of their

biggest hits that stars has ever had the

final season is coming out here shortly

stars is now rolling out a

um price hike they will be charging

starting next month an extra dollar a

month for the service they started to

notify customers today so check that out

unfortunately if you are a Stars

customer you will be paying extra to get

access to stars with that

um

kind of is the name of the game

everybody's raising the prices inflation

higher cost is not

um passing by of streaming and

television shows with them

all right Walmart is finally seeing some

success in their efforts to take on

Amazon for a long time Walmart has

talked big about their plans to stop

Amazon

um eroding their business by competing

in online marketing now Walmart has a

few uh benefits that Amazon doesn't

mostly they have all these stores across

the United States for home grocery

delivery and more and basically to use

all their Walmart stores as fulfillment

centers or Walmart employees there pick

the stuff and then they use a third

party delivery company come pick it up

and deliver it to your house to give you

a very quick quick delivery and a huge

selection of con or products very close

to you now Walmart has seen significant

growth in the first quarter for their

online sales bolstering all thanks to

grocery deliveries as people try to find

cheaper ways to get groceries as

inflation grows and more but also in a

wide range of other products

increasingly we're seeing that happen

out there so let me know do you shop

more at Walmart I got Walmart plus back

when I had a hip surgery and couldn't

walk and my wife was pregnant we're like

we're getting Walmart plus we're getting

the groceries delivered and I thought I

would cancel it I think I even said once

here maybe my other YouTube channel I

was going to cancel it but we kind of

got used to the weekly groceries we just

schedule a grocery delivery every week I

actually think it helps us save money it

removes the temptation as we go down the

aisles to buy stuff we didn't intend to

buy because we just saw it right there

but let me know what you think do you

use grocery delivery do you use Walmart

plus are you shopping more at Walmart

it's always hit a Miss but I have

compared and found that some products at

walmart.com are cheaper than Amazon but

not everything it's really one of those

half dozen here half a dozen there but

let me know have you found yourself

shopping more at Walmart do you use

Walmart plus to use walmart.com rather

than Amazon they're slowly taking their

online sales up let me know all right

last story up of the day

if you have an Android device you may

want to check especially if you have a

kind of a cheap no-name one there's

reports out there and full details in

the story notes there over 8 million

devices were shipped it to customers

with malware installed now there's been

stories about Android TVs me those

pirate boxes coming pre-installed with

malware now we're finding some of the

really cheap generic brand Android

devices also having them

now iOS devices are not exempt actually

there's been reports that

um or malware targeting iOS devices is

skyrocketing for two reasons one growth

in market share two a lot of iOS device

owners feel immune from the fear of

viruses malware and the like and they

don't take some of the same precaution

that Windows and Android users do who

are more used to it but if you did buy

one of these cheap devices you may want

to think about getting a malware

um detector like Malwarebytes on your

device to check it out to see if you're

affected 8.9 million people are

reportedly I'll put a link to the story

down below so you can check it out for

yourself

well there you go hey I know a lot of

people are heading out I will have a

video tomorrow on Friday

but on Monday there will not be a video

here in the United States it's Memorial

Day I have family coming in from out of

town I have big family events and well

we will have some stories that day

technically the office here at

corpcutters news will be closed so keep

that in mind we'll be here Friday we're

off on Monday I do have a special video

for this weekend already recorded and

we'll be back again on Tuesday again

back into our regular core coming today

schedule so check that out I hope you

have a fantastic day if you're leaving

you're getting a four day weekend a

little jealous but I hope you have a

fantastic long weekend until next time

take care be safe we'll be back again

real soon and hey leave me a comment

what's your Memorial Day plans I want to

hear from you take care everybody
