as usual everything that is spotty has

to look sporty at first and that's where

the Corolla cross gr sport actually

delivers rather well it starts of course

with the gloss black front end this

front end is obviously has this all

these black trimmings and such and most

importantly

it has new well refreshed rims that is

sort of meant to look like a fan and

then how you tell the Corolla cross gr

spot apart from the regular run of the

mill Corolla crosses well it comes with

a dual tone paint job as well as gloss

black finishing everywhere

inside is where things actually get

rather interesting because you get this

leather seats with a gr logo embossed

into the headrest that's pretty cool

that actually shows you that this is a

very special car then you also get gr

logo stitched and placed on convenient

places such as the start button on the

carpet and yeah in other spots around

the car as well but besides though

there's actually not much happening

because most of the updates to the gr

the Corolla cross gr sport is underneath

the car well

perhaps up here first because the

steering rack actually has its own spot

ECU according to Toyota Malaysia so what

this is supposed to feel supposed to do

is that it's supposed to make the

handling character of the girl across

the air spot feel a little bit more

spotty the biggest update to the Corolla

crosstalk is actually here no not the

wheel but behind the wheel the

suspension so the suspension has

received upgrades sportier upgrades

that's meant to make the car feel spotty

meaning AKA stiffer to give you better

handling around corners even the chassis

has been re-tuned and stiffened to give

the Corolla cross Dr spot more of a hand

of a spotting character and those of you

that really like to drive would perhaps

enjoy the Dr spot this girl across just

but better in Corners because that's

where this Will Truly Come Alive

as far as the powertrain is concerned

well it's still the same old 1.8 liter

engine producing about 137 PS and 172

newton meters of torque it's also still

mated to the same 7-speed CBT gearbox so

this even though it's a gr model there's

no specific upgrade to the powertrain of

the Corolla cross gr sport so how does

the Corolla cross gr sport feel to drive

well

that's how it feels like stuff

because

basically it's still the same old same

old 1.8 liter engine 137 PS 172 newton

meters of torque I mean what can I say

right it's still very much a family

oriented SUV

um

well it's definitely got the space we

have Big Fellas in here and we're not

exactly sitting shoulder to shoulder so

that's great it's still very much

catered to that and it has the

convenience of a power tailgate you know

Apple carplay cruise control and a well

the complete other safety Suite as well

which is important for family buyers

but Toyota again says that most of the

engineering work to the Corolla

crosstalk has been done underneath the

car and that's the suspension and

underbody braces we are going to go over

bedrooms and such

well it's

soaks up everything you're not exactly

attacking Corners going up gunting and

such right now but

it's all right I I wouldn't be able to

say exactly what's happening

because

from my perspective

maybe a bit lesser body roll and such

you know but minuscule updates perhaps

might feel it better at higher speeds

and faster corners and I'll reserve my

final judgment till I actually drive

this car in in a proper test drive

rather than you know being escorted in a

slow-moving Hilux but

the seven speed CBT gearbox is still

that just that but has has a

family-oriented SUV it's still I think

it does its job quite well spacious

comfortable it

it properly isolates the its occupants

from the world outside and it offers

everything that you would want in a

family SUV so that's still pretty decent

so the Toyota Corolla cross gr sport is

currently priced at 142 000 Ringgit well

and it will appeal to those of you who

need a car it's spacious enough for the

family and still quite fun in the

corners
