all right guys so i've got this issue
with my car it's uh
nissan cash car 2011 1.5 diesel
got a red engine management light on so
what i'm going to do is uh just try to
get a code for that see
why that is go ahead and plug that in
like so and then we just turn the
ignition on
just the ignition like solve
so let's see there you go
diesel particulate filter restriction
ash accumulation so we've had this issue
before around two years ago almost
exactly to this day we had the same
symptoms
and it turned out to be the dpf and we
had it cleaned
professionally for around 250 pounds and
um
it just happened again so the issue is
this car literally does
no motorway mileage so it's bound to get
clogged up because
it doesn't accumulate enough heat to
burn off all the ash so it just
comes out the back it just gets stuck in
there so
i'm not looking to spend another 250
pounds to get this cleaned i'm going to
try and do it myself this time bro
all right so i'm hoping that should be
enough clearance to get underneath the
car and
try and remove the dpf all right guys so
here i am underneath the car and i'm
going to try to show you
so here's the dpf starts from around
here
and it goes on
all the way down there so let's go and
have a look so we've got
two bolts here
i can see there's a little gasket in
between and then i don't think there's
anything else connecting it
until over here i've got this little bit
here this
just slides in we've got okay so that
will come off over here
this sensor and the other bolts
are right about here
so there and there
it's a 10 mil so i'm gonna go ahead and
try to remove that
and those are tight maybe i might need a
ball nope
got it that was pretty tight okay
a couple of turns the other one now
let's get stuck over here and there's
only
like an inch over here okay but that's
not too
tight at all that's already loose
turning one tooth at a time
literally okay i could probably it's
probably loose enough to get
a ratchet spider in there now i'll try
and do the rest of the ratchet
let's
so that's loose and the gasket's just
hanging off
so i'll leave that for now let's go to
the uh back end now
these are 16 mil
[Music]
try to take this plug off
[Music]
yes thank you very much i appreciate it
yeah yeah thank you very much i
appreciate it thank you
there you have it guys it's all off oh
god so i'm just gonna
try and have a look inside the dps see
how
it's looking inside from the inlet
let's look at the other side i'm not
from the exit
it doesn't really doesn't look that bad
from the exit looks pretty clean
so it's probably from the other end it's
clogged up
oh guys so i've decided i'm going to use
the cleaning solution in this
end and get it out the other end
rather than forcing all the dirt out of
the clean end
so what i've done is i've blocked this
bit off with just a plastic cup
that fits into that hole nicely and i've
tied it all together with some zip ties
hopefully when i pour in the cleaning
solution i want to leave it in here
for a while for a good few hours and
hopefully it doesn't leak out from this
end
so here's the final setup i've got it
all secured on the chair
it's almost upright and
i've taken the center out and uh shoved
a rubber glove in there
as per the official instructions on the
bottle
i've uh blocked off that little
pipe as well so we're ready to start
filling it with the solution all right
so this is what i'm planning to use it's
winds off car dpf cleaner removes ash
deposits from all types of
blocked dpfs professional formula so
it's mila let's see how it goes
so that's the top it's all formed up
it's kind of holding up there's some
leakage some
black soap coming out of there
so what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna leave
it here let it soak for a good few hours
every uh once in a while i'll come and
give it a little shake
like i did earlier all right so it's
been a while i'm gonna try and give it a
little shake up
see what happens
hopefully that should dislodge some of
the uh
the ash and the soap so i'm just giving
you another shake up
and what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna
release the fluid now
[Music]
all right so what i'm going to do now is
just um
stick a hose pipe in there and just let
the water come out until it starts
coming out
clear so i've plugged the hose pipe at
the top over there
just gonna go ahead and release the
water
see what comes out now
we'll leave it like that and it's
already starting to clear up a little
bit as you can see
so i'm going to leave this running for
as long as it takes
until we've got crystal clear water
coming out there
moving
it all comes up so that that's looking
very clear
so we'll get our little mug
and look it's really not that clear
still got a lot of dirt coming out
some nasty nasty stuff oh guys so i'm
just going to shoot a bit of a
compressed air down there
i'll just leave it like that for a
little while
keeps them coming
now guys so this is what the uh inside
of the dirty end is looking the other
side is looking exactly the same
nothing to see much
uh
oh guys so it's all back on i'm gonna go
and start the car up let's see how it
goes
well guys so i've got the car on the
motorway doing about 60 miles an hour
3000 rpm
i've been driving like this for about 20
minutes on fourth gear
and uh the emr light has gone off
alhamdulillah
so there you have it guys i think we're
done lights not coming back on looking
all good
