hello everybody welcome back to wtv's

weekly news roundup i'm sam i'm alistair

and we're going to be giving you all the

hottest stories from last week's pop

culture news so our first big news story

of the week is that christopher nolan's

highly anticipated new film oppenheimer

started filming we've had our first look

at killian murphy in the lead role and

even more big names have been added to

the cast is it oppenheimer or openheimer

but this is the thing i'm not sure um i

know that this is you know a major title

figure jayvon but oppenheimer

the creator of the atomic bomb uh very

timely and uh

very timely oh and uh

yeah so he's a major historical figure

but just a name i've only ever read

never heard it pronounced out loud so i

think to hedge our best to make

ourselves look like one of us is

educated and the other one isn't we're

going to pronounce it

in two separate ways

bob how do you pronounce it

okay well that uh that settles that yeah

thanks bub but yeah well we've had our

first look uh killian murphy in

character and it has to say uh

oppenheimer he's had a bit of a glow up

mm-hmm a bit of bitterness blow up and

uh yeah looking uh completely unlike the

real man looking as sparkly as ever yeah

as all these hollywood types do and uh

in addition to that new members of the

cast added we've got tennis banner in

there oh yes now alden evan reich uh in

his first sort of major role since

playing han solo a few years ago and

there johnny caster already includes

emily blunt matt damon robert downey jr

florence pugh fami malik and at some

point maybe even you the viewer

everyone's in it except for me that's

why you've got me looking after bob

hi me chris come on in marvel news aaron

pierre joins the cast of the mcu's take

on blade

reboot or a new iteration oh what's the

difference are they the same thing i

don't know i i think it must be a

completely new iteration because it's

mahershala ali taking over about to say

where's the science isn't coming back

yeah question slimes is not blade it's

not valley it's a dream world for him

he's been trying to get it for years uh

this was announced a couple of years ago

but it's only in the past few months

that we've started getting people on

board and alan pierre is one of the

first names attached to the catalyst

after

it was great because i remember the d23

presentation when all these projects

were announced and we had blade and

blade was the one that got me super

excited and then radio silence until now

so this is like a super exciting news

for you exactly now the ball will start

rolling but again we don't have any

release date we don't know when it's

going in front of cameras but the

casting people so it's happening it's

happening it's happening so

come on kevin pick up the pace now we're

next up robert downey jr is reuniting

with director shane black for their

third film together a brand new crime

thriller it's an iron man 3 reunion

an iron man 3 union for you last week

there was the three call of sonic three

now

it's the the three union

it's a lot of freeze the other day was

was two tuesday number tuesday this is

thursday

anyway completely irrelevant

the new uh film is uh from amazon

studios and it's an adaptation of these

crime novels parker um it's previously

been made in the 60s as the film point

blank looking like sort of iconic

cult movie uh but these crime novels

have been adapted a lot of times of the

year like the mel gibson film payback

okay it's a parker movie and uh they did

a jason statham version of the novels

which was just called parker

a few years ago but yeah this time it's

probably it's got high caliber talent

i'm going to go with bob downey jr and

uh

shane black behind the camera so yeah

that was that was my wikipedia synopsis

like what to expect but we don't know

when it's going to be filming when it's

going to be out you just know it's

coming robert downey jr in his most

serious role since doolittle

yeah exactly like after after tony stark

you know he seemed like he was in a sort

of i don't know like he didn't want to

act for a while like he turned up to do

little he did a well-tracked sentence

but uh now now he's got a lot of things

coming because he's because he's in

oppenheimer oppenheimer now he's got

this i think we think we're getting back

to robert downey jr serious actor good

good we love that bill murray is set to

start in a medical comedy drama from

aziz anzari so it is a medical comedy

we've had we've had quite a few of those

in recent memory haven't we uh yes

gloves scrubs yeah i mean it's scrubs

recent memory

is that a bit of a fruit i think i think

that's just us being like of the age

school that was just the early year

wasn't it yeah and then you're looking

it was like 15 years ago i think he

started in 2002

i feel like it's very early 2000s yeah

i mean i am no superman no

but will bill mummy be a superman that's

the question i mean that's what people

are asking that's true

yeah i mean if you could be a

ghostbuster he could be a superman and

it could be a doctor as well

what's your favorite bill murray cameo

cameo yeah not even just like films or

bro or cameo

because because can we i can only think

of zombieland does he have like more

cameos little shop horrors oh yeah of

course space jam do you count spaces

i feel he's like a full supporting role

he's in a few scenes in space i feel

like if they could do the bit with

little shakaharas where he has to

perform on a say this patient

i think that would make the series for

me i think we've had our first look at

daniel radcliffe in character that's

weird i'll yank of it i mean talk about

stellar casting

it looks just like him have you seen the

pictures yeah i've seen the picture

he looks just like him and weird al is

on set with daniel radcliffe at the

moment and they look identical

you look like a mirror it's crazy

exactly uh there was a quote from daniel

radcliffe you know and he was like you

know putting on that hawaiian shirt it's

a responsibility and he doesn't take

i'm very excited for this just because

you know we have so many music biopics

and uh this one is getting

getting down to the most iconic musician

of them all i mean if it's a weirdo

movie all the aesthetics are going to be

completely out there so i don't think

that's what what weirdo would want

anyway yeah and he's on set constantly

so i think he'll get his way

yeah if we get a live rendition of eat

it i'll be happy because i do love that

song or any cover of weezer that they do

as well is this the your pitch to

producers yeah i mean um

you've have you seen him cover buddy

harley by weezer i have yeah it's iconic

absolutely i can't

walter goggins is cast in prime videos

fallout series

so more video game adaptations coming

our way this seems to be the year of

video game adaptation but it's also like

big budget prestige

because the last of us that's going on

to hbo is up this year uh i think i

think they're still filming um but

apparently it's going to be with us by

the end of the year oh that's good and

uh yeah

that first season apparently has taken

an entire year to film but you know by

the time it looked back filming will be

the full year and uh yeah fallout

another post-apocalyptic thing 50s

aesthetic i know it's uh yeah i imagine

this is gonna

cost him a pretty penny but you know i'm

sure amazon can afford it you could say

it's gonna be the bomb
