Chicago visiting the filming locations

to the opening

of Married With Children

now what's wonderful about Married with

Children is this most people including

us the Grimms every time we go to sleep

we put something on TV sometimes it's

the same movie over and over and over

again sometimes it's a TV show for a

while we're watching That 70s Show

Golden Girls Murder She Wrote and

Married with Children in fact currently

on our travels we watch Married with

Children all the time it's true now baby

ghoul do you have a favorite Married

with Children episode

there's one that actually does stick out

my memory

it's Halloween

um

Peg is playing death or the Grim Reaper

however you want to see that and

she'll return his life if the family

needs him at all in the course of the

evening and nothing nothing nothing the

kids don't need him the wife doesn't

need him and finally at the very very

end of the night

they're debating if the toilet paper

they stole from probably the Darcy's is

one ply or two ply and they're rubbing

it on their faces right

and they're like oh I can't tell where's

Daddy when you need him because he would

know and that was a thing that brought

him back to life essentially was that

they needed him to tell them if the

toilet paper was one ply or two ply hey

wait a minute you're throwing the good

stuff two-ply

no that's one plot no no no no it's two

planes that's dead

yeah where is he when we meet him

she said it she said it my pumpkin said

she needs me

the no will cause might I add I think my

favorite Meredith children episode has

to be whenever Al needs to get glasses

and they end up going to this eye doctor

like this Optometry store and he's

trying on different glasses and they do

this Montage to his easy top saw

and he's just having a blast with his

kids I mean for the most part when it

comes to Married with Children when it

came out it was it was ahead of its time

and it was filled it was very crude they

were making fun of each other sexual is

a big No-No and

the Marcy Darcy she kind of got the

brunt of Al's jokes

well Mercy congratulations I didn't know

you were expecting

right now we're in downtown Chicago

pretty close to the water

making our way over to Buckingham

Fountain which in my opinion they should

just rename it to mirrored with children

fountain because every time you see it

that's what you think of and we drove by

it trying to find parking and

immediately what do we start doing

singing theme song started singing the

theme song

now it's right on the other side of

these trees and about the center of your

screen

this is just a beautiful day like the

Rose Garden

the trees

this is kind of nice I thought it was

gonna be a lot colder than it is right

now especially down by the water but

this is perfect

and when it comes to the filming

locations to mirrored with children

pretty much everything was filmed on set

in studios out in California but for the

opening they used two shots that were

here in Chicago that kind of established

where they lived the first one being the

fountain the second one being the Bundy

house or Bundy Manor or whatever you

want to call that

and there it is

I can't believe we are standing here

the Buckingham Fountain the opening

shots to the TV show married with

children with the Chicago skyline in the

background and a lot has changed new

buildings have come but if I zoom in

let's see how close I can get this

let's say to right about there

you can pinpoint you can see certain

buildings from the show that are still

here even with all the new buildings

around it

what do you think baby goal I know it's

the winner and the fountain isn't on but

just staring at it you can hear the

theme song Can't you yeah I've been

singing it since we came here yeah

did you ever think

that you'd be standing here looking at

this

honestly no

um I mean I've been to Chicago a handful

of times I never really looked into

finding out where the fountain was but I

also didn't think it was this large

because in the opening scene you really

just see two buildings so it kind of

makes it seem like it's a small fountain

it's not as massive it's massive

here's a closer look at the marriage of

children fountain

usually whenever you see it especially

during the show it's from across

the little lot here from afar but this

is what it looks like without any water

it's kind of cool it's like behind the

scenes with the piping right

and then this small brown building which

I'm guessing is a pump house

is still here as well

a few changes over time but for the most

part

it's still the same

as beautiful as this park is

I think it's about time we head over to

the Bundy household

I could go for some chicken

if you keep saying that now here's the

thing

it's the running joke the Darcy's did

they live across the street or were they

next door I always felt that they were

across the street see I always thought

that they were next door and I don't

think they ever showed the Darcy house

I feel like they did though so here's

the thing when we get there we'll show

the house across the street as well as

on both sides just to cover all bases

because we want people to know what kind

of neighborhood the bunnies lived in

with traffic right now we find ourselves

about an hour outside of Chicago in a

town known as Deerfield

right now I'm standing on Castlewood

Lane but in the TV show Married with

Children this is the street the Bundy's

lived on their address 9764

Jeopardy Lane

it's funny and the TV show Married with

Children I always thought the bundies

lived in a little bit of a rundown

neighborhood but in real life this

street where the house is located

it's actually really nice

got some nice houses well manicured

Lawns the trees are bare because of the

time of year

but right down this road right here

is where you'll find the Bundy house

I'm walking down the street their house

is pretty easy to

pick out

one also because I had the actual

address but two I've watched the TV show

countless times

and this is it right here

now for the most part it still looks the

same as that house that we all know and

love from our childhood

man this is cool to the bottom left hand

corner is where the the trash would have

been at the end of the driveway and

there was a bicycle parked right in

front of the garage but for the most

part it still looks the same as when the

Bundys were living here
