it's the time of the year where athletes

are made my name is Noel Grunk I'm a

sports therapist for the Academy up for

them I love the word fuel if I have a

kit kat is that gonna fool me for a 90

minutes game in comparison to our

broccoli so when you start thinking or

feel then you can actually make better

decisions as well during the season

there's a lot of maintenance stuff that

goes on we're trying not to stress the

boys because our games are the number

one priority offseason is where we're

trying to get them fitter faster and

stronger and so the stress level is

probably the highest and so to be able

to tolerate that your nutrition has to

be on point

you can't out train a bad diet you have

to dictate your nutrition your feel to

your life surface historically people

used to think carbohydrate was really

important now we know through science

that they're all important so protein

fats minerals their means so when we

talk about nutrition there are spectrums

you can have a carbohydrate which has

zero benefits - right you could have a

carbohydrate that helps you recover

gives you energy and it can help your

training levels like go to the next

level don't be scared to to hear this

word when you guys are here taught to

win the red flags that come in to during

off seasons people craving for sugary

stuff people craving for fizzy drinks

people craving for biscuits sugars and

that's probably a sign that their

nutrition isn't whole isn't complete and

so your body's trying to get like these

extra sugars and extra like vitamins

from somewhere else I think that's

probably the red flag when you start

craving for sugary stuff then you

realize you all over in overtraining

mode you're probably dehydrated and

you're not fooling yourself with the

right nutrition you know our first team

they lift once a week depending on how

many games they've got the goal is to

play well in 90 minutes not to have a

good gym session nowadays it's actually

cool to be quite healthy and doing your

extra stuff offseason

before you even come to the season we've

got people professional footballers

posting things on social media

exercising and then you know saying no

days off so that's becoming a quite a

culture but we're human beings out there

in the

and I think if you can be 80% healthy

and 20% not so you can get away fit

offseason like before you come into your

season
