unfortunately he was killed in a head-on

collision when he's investigating a

robbery in another town in West Virginia

we're being dispatched to a larceny in

progress at a convenience store

a female caller is stating that while

she was getting gas a male came up to

her and asked her for some money she

refused to give them money at that time

he reached into her purse and took her

money without her knowing it

he then ran up the street and a witness

who saw the crime actually occur is out

with the offender and hasn't been

custody until we arrived

took off across the street and then came

back inside of him over there yeah I

don't think you're going to find

anything on it Where'd you lose

that big building he took a left and

went down there for a while he

um they went over there he went over

behind this building and he might have

dropped the money there I go over there

how much total well 12 out of 50. so

that's 12 15. so you're missing 38

dollars not 12. 38 38. he's not saying

where it's at so in the alley we

recovered seven

ten dollars with the gas and this and I

took the money and I got outside the

I usually do I just stuffed it right

here and this guy said he took something

out of your purse I looked at my purse

and all my money was gone and he took

off running and then he went after it

and I called you okay so you saw him

running

or you saw him take this stuff out of

her purse sorry I saw him take something

out of the person okay I was I was I had

my shades on I don't know what I saw him

became that I got something out of her

person we have witnesses that watch you

grab the money out of her purse

said he didn't even see me take money

out of he said he thought he saw me take

something out no he saw you take

something out of the purse

which has happened to be money because

that's the only thing that's missing out

of the purse

so we're going to cut through all this

and we're not going to go around in

circles okay

why did you take the money out of her

purse

the jail for it

for taking the money out of her purse

you had a job and worked hard for your

money would you like somebody taking the

money from you

would you like it no I wouldn't now

she's out her money the rest of the

money wherever you put it all the money

so wherever the money is right now and

you stashed it someone else is going to

get it and I'd rather her have it and be

returned back to her

so where is it I didn't stash anybody

you know what goes around comes around

well do you want to prosecute

so what you're saying is if we return

the money to you you don't want to

prosecute against him right why is that

he committed a crime he took the money

you work hard for I know he's going to

do this to somebody else you have

children yes so do it to your kids

he needs to be reformed okay that means

starting in jail and working his way

through jail doesn't reform you okay

well I understand I the only reason

sorry I came back out here I appreciate

it okay just get it back all right maybe

he's learned something from it you know

if you're going to commit crimes like

this you can move to some other state

move out of the southeast but I'm not

going to tolerate this

do you understand this is not acceptable

if you don't steal somebody's money that

they work hard for you get up

quit being lazy and go out and get a job

until then I hope we don't meet because

you'll go to jail

um it looks like they have the money

stashed the money in

right now the victim of this crime is

only requesting that our money be

returned to her and she's not even

willing to prosecute at this point this

is a serious crime

there's three dumpsters back there and

back there behind the hotel check the

first dumpster around the corner that

was the only thing in the trash can so

is her money back and she doesn't want

to prosecute she doesn't want to do

anything to him because he's the age of
