here we go Barbie day one

it's been absolutely surreal the energy

on set's been amazing it's Barbie's

World and we're just living in it I

think it's gonna be a ble to be that

all audiences enjoy the lucky cast got

to live out their childhood dreams on

the movie's epic set can I come to your

house today

ET has all the behind the scenes fun

facts even to build the beach and build

the all the houses and build all the

transportation sequences and build like

the Oval Office and the the Supreme

Court I don't have anything big planned

just a giant blowout party with all the

Barbies and planned choreography and a

bespoke song you should stop by so cool

I was like we're gonna need like 20

sound stages to build all of this and we

ended up not with 20 but with a lot of

sound stages hold my ice cream can yeah

it was like I knew what Toto felt when

he walked into the Wizard of Oz

you went Dorothy you were totally yeah

I'm having the Toto experience hi Barbie

oh hi Alan and just when you show up and

everything is like this explosion of

texture and color and production design

and then Greta had this amazing Spirit

of sort of um like goofy playfulness in

the middle of this enormous production

my favorite design feature is obviously

the slide that goes to the pool and now

we do a whole bit in Barbie's Day where

she slides down the pool to go down and

have her breakfast

I feel like Barbie is giving us all

permission to like embrace the fun wear

the pink like Express Yourself did you

bring your rollerblades

I literally go nowhere without them

not the movie's inspiration board set

designers look to Barbie's iconic style

Palm Springs for West Coast Vibes but

when it came to Barbie's Closet the

inspo came from a 90s classic

we were saying that the Wardrobe in

Clueless like the bar was set so high

and we would really like to do something

that is as cool as that a reoccurring

theme pink lots and lots and lots of

pink just like pink now in fact they use

so much pink the england-based

production ran the Country Dry into a

shortage but Issa Ray offers this

solution but I was like why don't you

just blend like red and white let me

talk about here

this is the best day ever it is the best

day ever and so is yesterday and so is

tomorrow and every day from now until

forever

my favorite part of directing is

watching actors work and it was like I

was just getting to sit by the camera

and I couldn't

I couldn't believe it

humans only have one ending
