hey what's going on guys welcome back to

my youtube channel

so first of all i just want to thank you

guys for the overwhelming support on my

last collection video because of that i

was inspired to

create another video that highlights

another section of a hobby that i

collect i'm a huge advocate for

any type of creativity i really

appreciate

when i see other human beings being able

to create something that you know i

could never

dream to be able to do myself so because

of this i wanted to collect a lot of the

creative genres that i have been

following throughout my lifetime and

that would be

film anime tv shows basically that put

me on the path of finding something that

unites all of them right now there was

some

dvds and blu-rays that basically covered

pretty much everything that i collected

and was a fan of the problem that i

found with dvds and blu-rays was it's a

part of technology and technology always

has this like power creep factor to it

you know the newer the better the newer

the better it was just very hard to you

know go from vhs's in the beginning to

dvds and then blu-rays and they have to

recollect everything so to me i kind of

wanted to collect all of these things

unified as one but also in a timeless

type of collectible basically our books

are books that have illustrations from

the original creators whether it be it

like either manga panels are colored or

you know characters in

non-canon settings and non-canon actions

i really enjoyed that and this was kind

of my way of supporting the creators per

se as well as having you know a small

piece of their creative soul in my

collection if that makes sense i just

want to show you guys what i've

accumulated so far i actually was

planning to make another youtube channel

called strictly art books where i

basically do a page by page flip through

of every single one of the books but if

you guys

really enjoy me you know geeking out

about these genres i could do that on

this channel as well so let me know what

you guys think at the end of the video

and in the comments down below without

further ado let's get into it

all right so the first books that i have

are actually two of them this is

not really art books they're more uh

strategy guides these are for pokemon

red and blue as well as ruby and

sapphire so the reason i have these two

in my collection is i started playing

pokemon ruby that was my first game ever

i remember my parents buying me a flame

red game boy advance sp

and a ruby alongside it and i put in

almost

like three to four hundred hours into

that game like literally grinding my ass

off because of this ruby holds a really

special place in my heart and you know i

have the sealed video game but i

remember wanting this book so bad at the

time my parents you know like they blew

all their budget on

the the game and the system didn't want

to get this the reason i have this one

is even though i didn't play pokemon red

and blue i totally get what they did to

you know the pokemon world the

collectibles world everything that has

to do with

anime in general like this this thing

was truly the first international ip to

ever go like super super viral so

i totally get it and this is why i

wanted to kind of have a physical

manifestation of pokemon red and blue

and it is basically with the

king james 16 11 bible of um

video games right here the pokemon

official nintendo players guide i

actually pulled these right out of

blisters like back in the day back when

blisters were cheap that's why they're

in really good condition so super happy

to have these

all right moving on down is

actually not something that i purchased

because of the collection i actually

have this one from my childhood days and

it was in such a well-kept condition

that i added to my collection this is

the 10th anniversary collector's edition

pokemon pokedex i actually got this book

in something called the scholastic book

fair and this might be completely

foreign to my international audiences

but we'd get these flyers back in middle

school where they basically had a

catalog of books

and you can order them and this was the

only book i ever ordered man like it is

so nostalgic to me this came with a

poster i really really love this book

because it brings me back to the days

where i just enjoyed flipping through

and just looking at the physical pokedex

instead of on my game boy all right

moving on to the next one

this is another pokemon book but this

one is more towards the tcg side this

book has a collection of illustrations

of the tcg card game and i really really

love this book because to me

in terms of tcgs all of my budget

towards them is spent in yugioh because

that's what's most nostalgic to me

however i do respect what the trading

card game of pokemon did and

i do want to house a sort of catalog of

the artworks that i remember from back

in the day and what's really cool with

this one is

it has a lot of the original wizards of

the coast artworks in like larger

formats so it was such a nice release it

was so compact i believe i got this one

for like ten dollars this is one of

those books i really love it and i'll

recommend it to any tcg collector who's

kind of

priced out of the pokemon tcg so yeah

that's that all right next we have

yu-gi-oh the art of the cards so this

book right here is konami's way of

cataloging all of the card artworks and

only the card artworks into one book and

this basically focuses on dual monsters

so it has everything from the first five

seasons what i really love about this

book is how well-made it is the print

quality is fantastic you know they did

such a good job cataloging everything

that if you're also priced out of the

yu-gi-oh tcg this is a great way to

collect i believe this is like maybe 30

bucks or 40 bucks you can get literally

every single card from the original dual

monsters in a bigger format than owning

the actual cards this is definitely a

really really well made book and i'd

recommend it to any yu-gi-oh collector

out there next in japan they don't

really have

art books per se they have more of a tv

visual guide or an animation visual

guide and this anime right here fate

zero

is

probably one of the most well executed

animes you will ever come across

if you have not seen this anime i

definitely recommend anybody who's a fan

of the genre to check it out it is a

slow burner but it is so well made like

it is done with so much care honestly i

really had to support them with this

book actually there's two volumes

because season one and two were one year

apart so this is why they released two

different books

this animation has probably some of the

best budget and best art styles you'll

ever see these two books right here they

symbolize an animation studio that

really

is dedicated towards their craft as

somebody who's had to put up with viz

you know toei animation where they drop

the ball like every other episode you

know it really is rewarding

seeing a studio go 150 on every single

episode of their animation i understand

that you know those are longer running

animes but i really think that a studio

should be tackling things without

cutting costs and this is a perfect

example of doing exactly just that i

believe the composer for them is

yuki kajura the soundtrack for this

thing is just bonkers it's absolutely

incredible i turn it on literally when

i'm working out like

soundtrack six of this animation is

unreal like it's truly

it's amazing they did such an amazing

job it was like you know here's my money

i'm here to support any project that you

do this is how i did it and i picked up

these two books right here very very

happy to own them fate zero part one and

part two

all right the pile is getting smaller

now we move on to

probably the film that got me into

modern pop culture

this is the art of iron man in my

opinion this is the second best film in

all of the marvel universe

this thing was absolutely mind-boggling

when i first watched it i remember

watching it maybe grade 7 grade 8 it was

in theaters at the time i was like blown

away like you know the scene where

mark 2 is being suited up like the

silver suit

and you see like this pan around where

all of the gears are shifting

oh my goodness man like i remember

seeing that in theaters i was like holy

crap that is the sickest thing i've ever

seen in my life they really nailed iron

man in this film this is one of those

films where

the jokes every single one of them hits

home they don't take a really serious

moment and make a joke out of it like

they've done in the recent films this

film really masters comical humor while

at the same time mastering tension

making sure that every moment hits home

this is one of those films that you can

always flick on whenever you're bored

and re-watch it because it is so well

made like this is absolutely fantastic

this was definitely a prize to have in

my collection and one of my favorite

films like truly this is

one of the best films of all time in

terms of superheroes and non-superheroes

iron man one right here alright next is

probably the fan favorite film the film

that most people

the most people gravitate towards when

it comes to the mcu this is the original

avengers this book is basically extinct

now i mean it's like two three hundred

dollars and you know two three hundred

dollars might not be a lot in card value

but when it comes to these books

like that's quite a bit because these

are way more mass-produced than cards so

this book encompasses avengers 1

probably like the most revolutionary

film of our generation honestly like i

don't really remember another film that

does a better job of pulling random

non-comic book viewers into the films as

much as this one did like this is an

absolute masterpiece of a film it falls

number three in my top ten but number

one would always be the winter soldier

that film was unbelievable so this is

avengers one i wish i owned the winter

soldier as well but that book is also

just as extinct it's like three four

hundred dollars it's out of my price

range so i have this one and hopefully

they re-release the winter soldier so i

can add that one to my collection as

well this is avengers one awesome

awesome film and a great great book all

right moving on to the next one this is

an anime that really brought me back to

appreciating

you know anime as an art form see when i

was like in grade 8 grade 9 i left and

it really wasn't cool to be

you know geeky back then it's not like

today where you know everybody can brag

about being a geek but

back then it wasn't that good so

when i shifted towards you know the

marvel scene and the you know the live

action i kind of put animation behind me

and i didn't really follow it as much

however when this thing debuted attack

on titan season one i was like holy crap

like this is just sick

after that i started binging more shows

now i check out at least one anime per

season so i'm definitely

you know thankful to this anime for

bringing me back into this world and

you know attack on titan is you know

very very highly regarded by most people

but to me

as somebody who prizes freedom above all

else it was really refreshing seeing

a character so like-minded like myself

anyway more about this book this book

encompasses season one and season two

together all of the artwork that they

released during that time is in this one

if you don't know whit studios covered

the first three seasons of attack on

titan this was their first production

ever

so that shows you like i mean dude they

knocked it out of the park you cannot

even deny that i mean just just the

openings alone and the animation in the

openings

just unbelievable anyway they took a lot

of liberties here because i mean if

you've read the manga you understand

just how atrocious the artwork was back

in the day with this one they took a lot

of liberties in their art styles and

their character designs and i really

appreciate it honestly they look much

better in the anime than they do in the

manga in my opinion at least so i'm very

happy about this one and this is attack

on titan right here all right next we

have

the most stylized and my favorite style

of

anime art that i've ever seen this is

bleach

i'm sure you guys know what this is this

was one of the big three for the longest

time in terms of animes and top sellers

to me the art style that tayte kubo has

is

undeniable i really love his art style i

really think he has the best art out of

any creator that i've ever seen at least

in my opinion i really love his artwork

i love the

stylized designs of everything that he

does the swords you know the clothing

that they wear the hair everything man

like not a single character looks the

same this guy is so creative i

understand that the story is lackluster

it's not that great after the eisen arc

but to me i followed it because again i

really appreciate art man and because of

this you know i had to pick up this book

i am looking to upgrade this one to the

bleach jet which is like a big book but

that one is like 300

and

you know that

you need a certain budget for those

types of books but that one i am looking

to upgrade but for now this is what i

have right now this is released by viz

media it's only like 20 bucks definitely

recommend you guys check this out and

check out bleach next is one of those

i don't like the story

but i see how much work you put in

so i will support you

this is made by the same studio as the

fate zero this is made by ufo table the

composer is the exact same as fate zero

as well yuki kajura you know this story

is it's hard to watch because the main

character is not very relatable like

it's a very

obscure character and you really don't

have a lot to relate to it's definitely

a slow burner number one but number two

i found it boring at times okay i just

couldn't relate personally you know some

people have differing opinions but to me

i just didn't really see it and a lot of

people say it's because the source

material is weaker than the other works

that they've adapted but while watching

it there was no denying that i could see

how much meticulous effort that they put

into this like the raindrops the blood

splatter the

you know the snow

the soundtrack like everything was so

beautiful about this anime that i was

like you know what

take my money and i picked up this book

i mean you'll see right here as i browse

through it it's absolutely incredible

like the artwork is so well done

everything is super top-notch for an

anime that came out in 2007 or 2008

this thing holds up so well to the stuff

that's coming out right now whatever

you're seeing in the pictures this is

exactly how the anime looks it's that

crystal clear it's that sharp it is

super well made man carter no kyokai

garden of sinners that's what this anime

is called definitely recommend it ufo

table

i will literally watch every single

thing they put out because i really

respect somebody who puts in 150 into

his work this is kara no kyokai next we

have

a wit studio release which is attack on

titan but this one is a little bit

different this is the tv guides and

basically you know how like in america

they

they have like chris evans doing

something or you know robert downey jr

doing something like on a commercial in

japan the anime characters are the stars

so because of this they use those as the

props to advertise and these two books

basically house the characters in

advertised form right so you have them

holding like bleach bottles or you know

brooms or whatever it is that they're

trying to advertise like chocolate bars

i have no idea man like i just find it

really amusing i think it's really cool

and definitely unique to only japan i

don't really see this anywhere else you

know maybe in like the middle east here

and there but for the most part this is

a strictly japan type of advertising and

i picked up these two because i wanted

to support wit studios this was how i

did it and

i'm really glad to have these two like

these are really great coffee table

books because you know they're they're

just amusing to look through so this is

season one and season two of wit studios

tv guide

all right next we have

the anime that

started me into the world of anime see

like back in the day i used to watch

like dragon ball z pokemon but i never

really knew that they were like

considered anime or they were actually

japanese material brought over to the

united states and canada so

to me this was the thing that really

opened the floodgates back in the day as

a child you know i distinctly remember

back in 2006 where i was like in grades

five and six i was on the playground and

you know my my friend at the time his

name was colin i still remember this man

shout out to you if you ever get to see

this he told me about this cool show

that was airing on ytv it was called

naruto

i turned it on during the tuning exam

after that i was like hooked there was

nothing like this anime this is

encompassed by the two books that came

out this is naruto shipuden these are

the two of them there is a naruto

uzumaki which is basically encompassing

the first chapter i am looking to pick

that up as well

just i really haven't had the time to

this anime was game changer see i seen

dragon ball z i've seen pokemon but i

have never seen

something so sinister as orochimaru you

know i mean like when you see him in the

forest the chunin forest or whatever

it's called i don't remember but

yo when you saw him there and he

like attacked sasuke man like

i don't know to me

that was absolute game changer i was

never the same after that i was watching

ytv at 8 pm every friday it was like ytv

and then they had kind of like sub

channels and bionics was the one where

they had naruto inuyasha gundam seed

bleach this was the thing that started

it all and it still holds so strong even

to this day and proof of that is the

huge blow up that it had in the past two

years with tick-tock right like

everybody started watching it even my

wife likes the show there's not too many

things where she was able to binge 500

episodes on and this was one of those

things where you know she was sitting

there binging it all day and night so

naruto amazing amazing show you know you

can argue it doesn't have the greatest

storytelling it doesn't have the

greatest writing but

the world was so vast and

there was so much

background and lore to everything that

you know you were automatically

intrigued honestly i really love this

show it's one of my top 10 of all time

this is naruto right here all right next

is

what i consider my first anime without

ever knowing what anime was so this was

before i even

came to canada and

i knew what pokemon or dragon ball z was

i remember distinctly going to my

friend's house and you know just turning

the show on this is

detective conan or in the english it's

case closed this is one of the longest

running animes

it's an episodic show so

you can always like turn it on tune in

and solve the case with the main

characters

i thought it was a really badass show

it's extremely well made and you know

the thing that i liked about this one

was the artist was able to capture fear

and terror so well in the eyes like he

does this simple trick where you know he

really expands the eyes but the pupils

get so small and when you see that in

the animation or in the manga it really

emphasizes the fear factor in my opinion

he does an amazing job with his art

style case clothes detective conan

whatever you want to call it this is a

true jewel in my collection this is so

nostalgic to me i absolutely love this

book

next is my favorite film franchise

planet of the apes

i think this is one of the most well

done franchises in all of cinematic

history i watched the original ones i

believe the first one came out in 1968 i

think don't quote me on that the first

one was amazing second one was amazing i

was not even born like my parents were

just being born at that time to me i

feel like those films were so well made

you know they're really true timeless

masterpieces however what really pulled

me to the planet of the apes franchise

was the most recent three films like i

watched those first and then i ended up

going back to watch the older vintage

ones but the three that were released in

this decade in my opinion are bar none

the best trilogy ever released in any

franchise like ever

i honestly think it's better than the

dark knight i think it's better than

lord of the rings i definitely recommend

you check out the films if you haven't

and if you have definitely check out the

older ones because the older ones are

extremely well made and extremely

thought provoking to say the least

that's planet of the apes all right

moving on to the last like four

books this is

one piece this is the first compendium

this actually released this in three

different books what happened was they

ended up scrapping that and re-releasing

those three books in this one and from

now on they're doing just basically

three arcs per book one piece in my

opinion has some of the best characters

out there as somebody who

seeks the utmost freedom possible

i really gravitate towards you know the

luffy's the king rogers all of those

characters and their ilk in my opinion i

think every anime that has this type of

theme to it i truly attached to it and

you know i end up collecting it and this

is one of those books i really love one

piece i really think it's a microcosm of

the world we live in today take that

however way you will but this is one

piece and really really happy to have

this one in my collection next is not

really a film or anime art book however

this is a memoir to myself and my

history in another industry before i

joined cards i actually used to work in

statues and figurines in that time i

basically gravitated towards

a certain company called sideshow

collectibles i really felt like they had

some of the best art design that i've

ever seen even compared to other

companies i kind of wanted to have a

small

memoir to dedicate to that time in my

life and the way i did that was by

purchasing their really clever books

called capturing archetypes these two

books right here volume one and two

encompass every single statue that they

ever released and as somebody who

doesn't have the space to house all

their statues this is a good compromise

in my opinion capturing archetypes is

one of the most amazing books i've seen

the quality is so nice i am looking for

the third volume of this however i also

don't appreciate how sideshow over

saturates everything so because of this

i also pick them up in the aftermarket

for now i have one and two and these are

some of the best coffee table books you

will ever find that's capturing

archetypes volume one two and three

alright second to last we have

probably one of the most well known

animes out there one of the most famous

ones this is full metal alchemist this

is actually not even based on the anime

this is just artwork from the manga

they haven't released one for the anime

and i wish that they would because i

would love to collect both of them i

read the books but i also watched the

show it has a lot of esoteric and

occultic references in there you know if

you're just looking at this

two-dimensionally you'll still have a

blast watching this but if you truly

want to

experience this in full

you have to be able to understand what

it's symbolizing

this show is an absolute masterpiece

especially the second half in my opinion

and the characters are what make this

show so good

fullmetal alchemist has some of the best

characters you will ever come across

and every single one of them is so

fleshed out and so well done that

you know you end up missing every single

one of them once they leave the screen

full metal alchemist man like this show

is absolutely superb definitely

definitely recommend this all right now

we've come to the last and biggest

boss monster of my collection

this is

the monster art box by konami

this was an ocg release

and in my opinion

you know i always say this i say konami

really knows how to tickle the fancy of

collectors and this is an amazing way to

do it

this r box has three books inside one of

them is the kazuki takahashi art books

basically he has character designs and

you know some

artistic stylized way of portraying his

characters in this book

the second one is the ocg artworks

basically here they have full arts of

you know the fan favorite monsters like

you'll see verstinitrix avion buster

blader you'll see like the full art

there not cut off or not cropped into

the card layout

and then last but not least is the card

art collection

this thing is badass man this thing has

every single card released from 1996

all the way

up to 2018.

i mean what more could you want i wish

that they would release this in the tcg

man like this thing is so amazing like

konami what are you doing

this is honestly one of the best coffee

table books just like the capturing

archetypes i mean if you have a yugioh

room for example throw this on your

coffee table every single person that

comes in there will be flipping through

it and it'll be a joy honestly this

thing is absolutely

super impressive and to top it all off

they threw an exclusive exodia card in

here

like what more could you ask for

honestly like the ocg really gets the

best stuff i wish they would bring this

to the states but for now i have the ocg

one i'm very happy with it extremely

well made super high quality it retails

for around like 200 bucks but the card

itself is 150 dollars so you can get

this for very very cheap like compared

to all the other books you're getting a

lot for the difference there so i

definitely recommend this to any

yu-gi-oh collector this is an absolute

masterpiece of a release and that's the

monster art box so there you have it

guys that's my whole collection

hopefully you uh

enjoyed me talking about like these

random things that don't really mean

much to anybody but myself so thanks for

watching guys appreciate you tuning in

peace

you
