If you're anything like me, you love to travel. And if you're also like me, you hate having to lug your stuff around with you. So, wouldn't it be great if there were a way to travel long distances without having to carry everything with you?
nether Portals are a great way to travel long distances without having to carry everything with you. All you need is a portal frame and a few obsidian blocks, and you're good to go!
Here's a quick tutorial on how to sync nether Portals for long distance travel:
1. Find two nether Portals that are close together.
2. Place a portal frame around one of the portals.
3. Place an obsidian block in the center of the portal frame.
4. Right-click on the obsidian block with your Flint and Steel.
5. Place another obsidian block in the center of the other portal frame.
6. Right-click on the obsidian block with your Flint and Steel.
8. When you come out of the other portal, you will be in the same spot as the portal you came out of.
10. Now you can travel back and forth between the two portals without having to carry anything with you!

yoyoyo Minecrafters generic be here with
another tutorial video but today is
gonna be a little different we're not
gonna do anything redstone II I'm gonna
show you guys how to use nether portals
for long distance travel this is
something that kind of showed a little
bit or at least I used it when when I
fought the ender dragon I don't want to
talk about it
and a lot of you guys were asking how do
you link and other portals together
so let's group started first thing you
have to know is that spacing in the
nether is different than spacing in the
overworld and so I kind of have this
little diagram diorama model right here
so one block of space in the in the
nether is equal to eight blocks of space
or distance in the overworld so this is
this grass right here so for every block
you move in the nether you're actually
moving eight blocks in the overworld the
equivalent of and that's that's why
using nether portals is so great for
long distance travel so for example if
you just moved like four blocks these
would be your nether gates right your
nether portals if you just move like
four blocks well that's the equivalent
of moving 32 blocks in the overworld so
you can see how that works yeah so
there's a couple little quirks about it
so let's show you how you do it first
things you make your nether portal you
could do it the old-fashioned way you
know with the corners on it or you can
do the budget way doesn't matter light
it up and we will jump in
and I've never been to the nether on
my creative test map alrighty so uh yeah
so here we are in the nether and so
let's say this is our first portal and
you look around would be a good place
yeah so let's let's go down this way
just a little bit and we'll stick a
portal right there looks good yeah I
like that so we'll just put one here so
of course you know you'd have a bridge
or whatever but you can see the portal
right over there so it's not like we're
really that far away
oops I'm making this too bigger and I
got to make it to where it's a 2x3 hole
gonna have to pay you know hey now and
then we'll light it fine get down there
and hop on in see where that takes us
Oh mushrooms Wow how lucky is that so
I'm I am so far out that I'm actually
not even in my test world anymore I'm in
some kind of crazy ocean biome how about
that well that's crazy so uh so that's
how you get over that side now let me
show you the little snag though we're
gonna go back in so we're back in the
nether and then let's say we went back
the other way and we're like doo doo doo
doo doo doo and we're gonna go back to
our original nether portal now you would
think that whenever you go back into
this portal you're going to go back to
the one right by them wow did I think I
mean crazy little all right that's cool
um you would think you're gonna go back
to where I had the little diagrams right
watch this
where the heck am i it's like you're in
the middle of nowhere so let's see stuff
still loading there's some snow over
there stuff just taking forever no I see
something oh there we go oh yeah yeah so
there I am so right over there's my
portal and he asked yourself you late
what the heck's going on here's what's
happening I'm gonna I'm gonna tear this
one down because we want to go back to
our original one and then we're gonna
we're gonna hit f3 and we're gonna apply
this whole this whole 8 8 to 1 ratio on
this so if I'm in the overworld right
and I hit f3 we're gonna we're gonna
look at the X and the Z and we're gonna
ignore my cat meowing in the background
so you can see X is like 153 and Z is
like 30 35 right so if we go into the
nether what we're gonna do is we're
gonna move this portal
this one right here before you do it
make sure that you have obsidian and and
a lighter don't go don't go doing that
and then you're stuck in the nether and
I've done it don't do it so what you're
gonna do is you're gonna go down and
we're gonna take the 150 3/8 so that's
like what 19 and then 35 divided by 8
that's roughly 4 right 4 times 8 is 32
yeah so what we're gonna do is we're
gonna go to X is 19 and Z is 4 so right
around here and let's build us a portal
it doesn't have to be super exact but
you want to get it pretty close and
what's crazy is look at where that old
one is and look where this is and it was
such a big huge difference on in the
overworld it's crazy how it works so
then you take that we get rid of this
guy hop back in
go into the overworld there's my bed and
we're synched up so as long as your X
and your Z coordinates are within that
eight to one ratio so again we're
looking at it X is 152 153 divide that
by eight Z is 35 divide that by eight
and that's the general coordinates you
want to put the portal now notice we
haven't talked about Y at all here's
something really cool we can do let's
say I want to build a mmm let's put in
another portal like way over here and we
want to build it on top of this tower I
was testing out height for how tall you
have to be to one-hit-kill Enderman
forty three blocks Thank You etho for
telling me but let's say like this is
gonna be the base of my skypalace so I'm
just gonna make ain't quick always
screwed up
make a quick nether portal here right
like so and turn it on
great so again we're just gonna look at
the y and z-coordinates so let's see Z
is about 120 y is like minus three so
you divide those by eight that makes the
X like zero and the Z to be oh I don't
know like 15 around in there so if we go
in what will happen is because we're
still within in the overworld because
we're within 1024 blocks of that other
portal that we made we're gonna end up
in the exact same portal in the nether
right so here's that one but no problem
all we have to do is go to those those
new coordinates so zero and 15 so let's
see X is zero
I mean X Y at X is 0 and Z is like 15 so
we can build it right around here should
work
stick that in like that right and again
look how close that is it's not very far
away at all so that's it makes it great
for quick transportation all you got to
do is you come in here you walk in this
way let you light this up you would jump
jump in do your little wiggle and wait a
minute wait a minute
and boom here we are we're on top of the
world
top of the world ma right I'm king of
the world
yeah and so then you know this could be
your sky palace you know you can have
all sorts of you know cool stuff make
your own sky block in your world that's
what I plan on doing right and then make
a little step go in I'll come back into
the nether at the the portal we just
made right do a quick little walk or fly
in my case come down in here go in there
and wait for the stuff to load up and
boom here we are back where we started
pretty cool huh
so that is how you synch up nether
portals and how you use them for long
distance travel and to get access to
really cool stuff up in the sky if you
