Surfshark VPN features you missed!

are you new to surf shark then you may

want to watch this video because i will

give you 13 amazing tips and tricks to

get the most out of your subscription

but before that i would greatly

this but now let's get into it

if you just got serp shark you can

easily download all apps from the serp

shark website on the apps and extensions

page you will find all the download

links

but here is where our first tip comes in

did you know that if you want to quickly

set up surf shark on your phone you can

scan a qr code on that same download

page just open up your phone's camera

app and begin scanning to be taken to an

apple or google play store

this makes the setup process even easier

the next tip is for all windows users

did you know that you can access

surfshark via tray menu to connect even

quicker

on your taskbar on the bottom right just

click on the search icon to access it in

addition you can click personalize and

select various features or settings to

access them even faster

ever try to manually find the best

location for yourself the speed metrics

button might help you do that

you can find it in the locations list

menu

just click on this icon here and it will

start showing the latency from your

location to that server

latency is shown in milliseconds so the

lower the number the more stable and

potentially faster the location will be

oh and a quick bonus tip when you do

find your favorite server click on this

star to favorite it that way it will

appear on the top of the list making it

easier for you to find if you are using

android you are probably aware of the

quick tile menu

well with serp shark you can add a

custom vpn tile to quickly connect to

the vpn simply expand the tile menu and

click on this pencil icon to edit the

tiles then scroll down find the surf

shark icon and drag it to the menu

depending on your phone these

instructions may be different so keep

that in mind but once that's done check

this out i can connect to surf shark

without having to open the app very cool

if you're on ios let me offer you an

alternative the surfshark widget on ios

adding it is super easy click and hold

on your screen and click on the plus

icon

then just scroll down and find surfshark

and drag it to your home screen the

widget is also available on android and

adding it is very similar

hold in your home screen until you see a

menu pop out then find surfshark and

drag it to your preferred location on

the screen with the widget you will be

able to connect your favorite location

right from the home screen our next tip

is for anyone who's got a lot of devices

it's important to know which devices are

secure and which ones are not with

surfshark you can find that out very

easily if you go on our website

here on the left side select manage

devices

on this page you will see every device

that is secured by surf shark with this

filter drop down menu you can even

filter them by platform

you can even rename devices like my pc

or something like that

if you have an apple computer we have

some tips for you as well on mac os you

can change the surf shark app to show up

in the status bar simply head over to

the app settings by clicking on this

gear icon and click on icon location

change it to icon in status bar and now

the app will open up from there of

course this is more of a personal

preference but for me it's nice to know

that it's always in the same place at

the top

let us now move on to the browser

extension as it holds many cool tips and

tricks too

recently we launched a new feature

exclusively on the extension called

website safety warnings you can access

this feature by clicking on this gear

icon and then selecting vpn settings

with this feature enabled you will get

live warnings whether or not the website

that you're visiting has ever been part

of a breach database

that way you will know that you need to

change your password for that website to

secure your account just keep in mind

that at the moment this feature only

works if you are connected to the vpn

continuing with the extension let me

give you one more tip if you use the

bypasser feature bypasser allows you to

choose which websites bypass the vpn

connection and use your native ip well

if you are using this feature you should

know about this trick with bypasser

enabled you can right click anywhere on

the website and add that website's

address to the bypasser url list this

way you don't have to manually add the

address in the bypasser settings i am

sure that this trick will help you save

a ton of time

speaking of saving time cookie pop-up

blocker is a recent feature that is also

available on the surfshark browser

extension you can enable it by going to

the settings then vpn settings

this feature will block any quickie

consent pop-ups that appear when you're

browsing online

they are extremely common so you've

probably seen quite a few but after

enabling this feature they will all go

away

tip number 11 on our list is a setting

called invisible to devices available on

both windows and android it can be found

under the vpn advanced settings on

either platform this setting will make

your device invisible to all other

devices on your local network meaning

that if you share your connection with

people you do not trust it will prevent

them from accessing your device remotely

additional security is always welcome so

definitely give this one a try second to

last tip on our list is dark mode and no

it is not related to star wars although

i wish it was but i will say that you

can join the dark side by going to the

app settings then app appearance here

you can enable the feature by selecting

dark mode this will make the entire app

ui darker now again this is more of a

personal preference but if you use your

device late at night it can be much

easier on the eyes

alternatively you can pick the follow

the system option which will dynamically

change between light and dark mode

during day and night

very cool setting that i thought you

should know about finally the last tip

on our list is the manual connection now

you might be asking what the heck is

that most surprised users connect using

desktop mobile or browser extension apps

and this is definitely by far the best

way to use surf shark but with a manual

connection you can connect to the vpn

without the use of an app

which involves using manual

configurations for each country you can

want to use the manual connection if you

have an older device that does not

support the surfshark app like a mac

computer with mac os 10.11 el capitan or

android phone with android 4.4 kitkat

also it is interesting to know that the

manual connection is used on plenty of

other devices like routers and raspberry

pi's
