This has been among the most asked questions in the past year.
The first step is to start with your coaching license if the answer is clear. Without a license, you can coach!
If you're in England, Contact the English FA! If in USA, The US SOCCER!
The second step is to get involved in a football club, even voluntarily.

how to become a coach you've been asking me to make a video on the process of going from
nothing to becoming a coach let's try with the first shot before telling you
how to become a coach i want you to ask yourself why you want to become a coach
why do you want to do it is it because you watch football and you watch the managers it gives you
a nice feeling to copy them is it because you feel that you're that teacher type so you can
be a good teacher you can help young kids become a better footballer or do you just want to do it
for the sake of becoming a coach ask yourself why you want to do it and then from that point
you do what i'm telling you this video applies to anybody in any part of the world if you're
in argentina if you're in nigeria if you're in iran if you're in dubai or if you are in the
united kingdom it applies to you the first thing that you do is you will contact your
football federation football association in your community there must be a football association
you contact them and say hey i'm a 14 year old boy or 18 year old year i'm a 35 year old man
i want to become a coach where do i start they have courses for all abilities so you
start from the bottom that's when your education begins and then at the same time so that's your
education you need to have experience as well you will find your local clubs it could be your
community team that play in the park it could be your local team that plays in the league
it could be a local football school whatever it is you will contact them say hey
i'm a football fanatic i love football football is my life i'm doing my coaching courses
i want to get involved with coaching i want to just come and help
anything that involves football i'm there whether it's washing bibs helping coaches
pumping footballs or simply shadowing the coach or even standing there like a mannequin i mean
so then what happens is while you're working on your knowledge you also get practical experience
being that football environment is so underrated i see a lot of educated coaches that when they go
in the football environment they cannot operate they cannot do what they know because they've
never been in that situation so even if you go to a club and you are not doing anything
understand that unconsciously you're recording information
which can be useful later on so these are the two things that you need to do now you go to
your federation whether it's the english fa or if it's fai or if it's iran football federation or
u.s soccer it doesn't matter where you go those guys are just there to help you get your license
getting a license is like getting a driving license you need to have the license to drive but
having it's a dock but having the driving license does not make you a good or a top driver right
so what can you do from that point number one you will never ever ever never stop with your
education even if you get the pro license there are always courses that can make you better i'm
always on courses and i can see people that are here but they never stay there they always go
to the next level right so learning never stops coaches are the lifelong students of the game that
should be in your head it never stops you are not going to make the mistake of most coaches i see
all of them they get a license 10 years ago and they think they are done but what they don't know
is they became a dinosaur coach you're just stuck in the past you're not updated yeah you're not up
to date so you will always focus on education and at this time same time you're going to have an
analytical mind you will analyze your work you will analyze your performance you will analyze
the execution of your plan all the time non-stop whether it's a session that you did yesterday
or if it's a long-term plan for your team that lasts for a season always reflect and
based on that reflection go back to your plan make adjustments therefore you have a better outcome
becoming a coach might look easy but it's probably one of the toughest jobs in the
world because it involves humans and you know when you have humans there's always human error
when you have humans there's always feelings emotions and these emotions a lot of times
influence our decision making which can lead to either a disaster or success
i hope this short video helps you i will make more videos about this in the future
but i request you if you become a coach i understand that your job as somebody that
learns something never stops the more you learn the better you can teach good luck
