This video gives my opinion on the 5 historical tv shows that got ruined by being woke. Many historical shows and historical tv series are prioritizing woke culture and PC culture over historical accuracy and depicting historical figures how they actually were in real life. Many of these historical tv shows have been effected by blackwashing or forcing in gay characters for no reason and this list gives my opinion on 5 times that going woke broke a historical tv show.
You may also like to read about:
historical accuracy has always been a
secondary or even a tertiary priority in
most historical TV shows but it seems in
the last few years as World culture has
become more and more dominant the
historical accuracy or correctly
depicting historical figures has gone
from becoming a low priority to a no
priority issue and in this list I'll
give you my opinion of five historical
TV shows that got negatively influenced
by War culture and that caused the
quality of the show to drop
significantly
I'm not saying all the shows in this
list are bad historical TV shows but I'm
just stating that there were random walk
elements added to these TV series which
brought the quality of the entire series
down overall but before we begin don't
forget if you love anything to do with
historical TV shows and historical
movies then subscribe to my Channel
History Sports and number five it is the
most recent Netflix original show to
suffer from the woke bug and it is Queen
Cleopatra a historical fictional tale
about an Egypt where the upper echelons
of society were predominantly black and
the legendary Queen Cleopatra was 100
black as well
because some so-called historian's
grandma told her she was black so
therefore she is well my grandma used to
believe you would get cursed if you
washed your hair on a Sunday and she's
totally allowed to believe that and if
she believes washing your hair on a
Sunday is bad luck that doesn't make it
a fact that's just her belief and that's
what this short just doesn't seem to
understand that feelings are not facts
and they should have no precedence or
weight in a historical documentary
but aside from that issue it seems that
everyone who holds any sort of power in
Egypt in this documentary is also
portrayed as being black
and even huge figure such as Caesar and
Mark Anthony were all pawns for this
powerful female ruler and this
documentary TV show fantasy series I
don't know whatever it is it suffers
from horrible pacing literally no plot
or storyline as we'll just take it from
one scene to the next and some terrible
costume design and horrific acting as
well
but it's not all bad only 99 bad some of
the good points I can think of if I try
really hard is that the set pieces are
okay in some scenes and that may be this
may be the wake-up call Netflix needs to
stop producing nonsense like this
but we shall have to wait and see if
Netflix has learned their lesson yet or
not
at number four it is probably a
controversial take but I believe Black
Sails was another TV show that although
is a brilliant historical TV series and
never hits the lows anywhere near the
previously mentioned Queen Cleopatra
documentary it still started suffering
from the wolf bug and there's a sharp
decrease in quality from a certain point
onwards
black seals was one of those shows that
I just had everything right from the gag
book an amazing cast an interesting
storyline and one of the very few shows
I have seen so far and I was able to
have a diverse cast and actually make it
feel legit an awesome kind of token
gesture or pandering to a particular
audience
the hall went out the window Midway
through season two where we get the
massive jaw-dropping reveal
drum roll please
that the main character Captain Flint is
gay and he worked his way up the ranks
to becoming one of the most infamous
pirates in Nassau because he is gay and
has nothing better to do with his time
because his lover is gone
now I don't have any issue with the
central character of a show being gay
especially in a fictional environment
but this was such an odd and out of the
blue plot twist because just a few
episodes before he was doing the dirty
dirty with the woman and there
definitely wasn't any size that it
wasn't a mutually enjoyable and engaging
process for both parties involved so for
me this was just a random plot twist and
it really didn't add anything to the
character and it is made for a really
boring backstory and full of material
that didn't add anything to the show in
any meaningful way so although black
sales is still a magnificent show and I
highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys
anything to do with pirates or history I
just feel that the show could have been
of a much higher quality if it had just
kept its focus on telling a great story
about Pirates rather than focusing on
adding in political correctness at
random points within the show
at number three it is barbarians another
Netflix original which started out great
and won the best new historical TV shows
to get released by Netflix in recent
memory and season one just smashed it
out of the park with the great storyline
interesting characters great battle
scenes and a surprisingly high level of
historical accuracy
but that all went out the window as soon
as season 2 got released the show went
from one of the best historical TV shows
to one of the most confusing and
ridiculous things I've ever witnessed on
a TV screen in my life the Romans became
absolute idiots who had literally no
defense system or strategy in place for
when their primary base would inevitably
attacked because they are living in
hostile territory
they then introduced a strong and
powerful black female Warrior who was
the savior of the idiot white
protagonist of the show and of course
she also has a Revenge story where she
is trying to avenge the death of her
father at the hands of the murderous
white Roman general germanicus because
he killed her parents during the war of
Carthage so just for reference the war
of Carthage took place in 264 BC and
season 2 of Barbarians takes place in
roughly 1080.
so this is a 250 year Gap that is
randomly introduced into the show just
to give us random wall characters some
kind of backstory that makes absolutely
no sense and if that wasn't butchering
history enough and just forcing walcism
down audience's throat Netflix goes and
decides to make two very important and
real historical figures marble and
flavius who had never even met each
other in real life depicted as gay
lovers within the show why there was
literally no need to add this extra plot
in to further the story it could have
been progressed in a much more
meaningful and realistic manner
the show literally takes any aspect of
historical accuracy or even decent
storytelling and just removes it
completely from the show as it just got
worse and worse with each episode and I
could honestly say if a season 3 of
Barbarian ever gets released I will most
likely be giving it a Miss if Netflix
does not sort out this mess of a
historical show out first
and number two it is Vikings Valhalla a
spin-off to the Vikings TBC and I was
totally hyped about this show because
Netflix has done a great job with
several other historical TV shows
already like the last Kingdom and rise
of Empires but as soon as we started
getting more details on cast members and
plot elements that we portrayed within
the series
I knew Vikings Valhalla was going to be
a huge work infested mess I'm sad to say
that on this occasion I was right the
first huge and obvious PC movement was
casting the role of the real legendary
historical figure jeal-hakon as a black
woman
that was one of the most ludicrous
things I had ever heard in my life we
have contemporary sources which describe
yarl hakun as a Fierce and large white
male warrior and instead of honoring
this highly important historical figure
from Norse history we changed not only
his race but his gender as well
the strong black female Warrior was so
necessary for this TV series The
Production Studio could have just
created a fictional character and it
would literally resolve at least half
the issues with this show but Vikings
Valhalla is a show that took
prioritizing wokeness and PC culture
over historical accuracy or relevance to
unprecedented levels for that time
and I just feel like Netflix has taken
what could have been potentially one of
the biggest and best historical TV shows
ever created and created it into a
subpar generic historical TV show
and the dishonor for the show that was
most butchered by a world culture goes
to and Berlin a channel 5 mini-series
where Ann Berlin the second and props
most well-known wife of King Henry VII
is portrayed as a black woman because
Production Studios don't want to
actually portray real black history to
audiences they just want to pretend like
they care
there are literally hundreds of
thousands of influential black people
that they could have picked from that
hugely influenced the world and history
in general but instead they again decide
to replace a real white historical
figure with the black one and this just
again makes no sense and is an insult to
minority communities all across the
world but luckily this show is panned by
audiences and critics alike for the
ridiculous of the whole show not only is
the casting terrible the plot is
incoherent and the storyline and side
plot are just boring and mundane the
first episode was all the torture in my
brain and soul could endure I think this
show would have been better if they had
taken an even more diverse casting route
and given us an Indian King Henry a
Chinese Elizabeth and maybe a Native
American Thomas Cromwell at least on all
minority communities would have been
equally represented and we would have
got one of the best historical comedies
ever created
but like I've said before I'll say once
again as a person of color and a member
of a minority Community forcing one
black person into a TV show does not
make that series diverse I'm sick of
seeing historical TV shows get budget to
meet some political agenda give us
historically accurate shows about
important figures from different
communities like shakazulu Genghis Khan
or Akbar the Greek so let me know in the
comments below if there's any show that
I missed or what you think is the show
most ruined by volkism remember to stay
up to date with all things related to
historical TV shows then subscribe to my
